Support Engineer

• Communicate with developers of all sizes to help unblock technical issues
• Answer difficult Retool development questions and troubleshoot database and API connections
• Brainstorm app structure and best practices with customers
• Research new topics and report back to customers on recommended approaches
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve customer problems often via live troubleshooting or impromptu screen-shares
• Work with other support engineers and software engineers and help train new coworkers
• Troubleshoot data structures, SQL queries, API authentication, and production infrastructure incidents

Digital Marketing

• Create and execute digital marketing strategy to accelerate pipeline and scale channels for Retool’s internal-tools development platform
• Plan, execute and manage digital programs such as webinars, content syndication, review sites, and presence on forums and directories
• Coordinate with Integrated Campaigns, Product Marketing, Performance Marketing, Operations, Sales and BDR teams to align strategy and SLAs
• Build and maintain Retool’s presence on review sites, online directories and online forums
• Run experiments and evaluate key success metrics (performance, ROI) to optimize programs and budget distribution
• Create programs targeting every stage of the demand funnel to accelerate pipeline generation
• Build streamlined reporting processes and communicate impact to stakeholders
• Interact with customers and prospects to understand voice of the customer and inform strategy
• Work hybrid with frequent cross-functional collaboration and in-person San Francisco office presence

• Retool's visual identity is in its infancy with potential to expand and grow in how it applies to various aspects of the business. As a brand designer you will play a key role in helping explore and define future looks. You’ll advocate for brand systems while still finding opportunities to break out and explore new territories, iterating through conceptual approaches for a brand that stands out in a sea of generic SaaS businesses. We’re not interested in playing it safe—we want to win hearts and minds of software developers.
• In this role, you’ll partner with marketing to produce work across email marketing, events, landing page, social media, paid digital advertising, slide decks, reports, whitepapers, one-pagers, field marketing.
• Extend and translate established brand systems into production-ready assets for strategic marketing initiatives.
• Help explore and maintain a flexible brand system for Retool that scales.
• Collaborate with the brand team to establish how Retool’s visual identity is strategically expressed across all experiences.
• Act as a champion for the brand and how design is applied globally.
• Present your work to cross-functional partners, understand their needs and translate them into design solutions.
• Design through iteration, experimentation and learned user behaviors.
• Ensure consistency in brand work across all marketing channels while seeking opportunities to experiment and grow the capabilities of our visual system.
• Be an active participant in design at Retool, providing thoughtful feedback across design and product teams in critiques, reviews, and more.
