General Counsel

• Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of customer-facing and partnership agreements, primarily complex software (including SaaS) and information licensing agreements, re-distribution, hosting, content acquisition, consulting and professional services agreements, non-disclosure agreements and other commercial agreements relating to sales of Thomson Reuters products and services
• Work within the Government and broader Customers & Commercial teams to identify legal, regulatory and compliance requirements and risks associated with various business initiatives and developing and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies
• Provide practical and insightful business and strategic advice, leveraging experience in the practice of law and the legal profession
• Research and respond to general legal inquiries from internal customers that relate to corporate, commercial, intellectual property and compliance matters, including privacy-related matters, and advise business on appropriate legal action to be taken
• Operate within policy guidelines and requirements set for Thomson Reuters lawyers to ensure compliance and consistency
• Contribute know-how to the group’s Knowledge Management initiatives and help to build an open knowledge sharing culture
• Work with members of the General Counsel’s Office on enterprise-wide legal issues and projects
• Undertake other reasonable duties as requested

Legal Counsel – Government

Senior Legal Counsel, Government

Compliance

• Serve as a primary liaison with federal agencies, the FedRAMP PMO, third-party assessment organizations, consultants, and internal stakeholders to support ongoing authorization and compliance activities.
• Lead FedRAMP Continuous Monitoring activities, including POA&M management, vulnerability reporting, monthly deliverables, and recurring agency reporting requirements.
• Maintain and update the System Security Plan, risk documentation, assessment artifacts, and other required FedRAMP documentation to ensure ongoing audit readiness.
• Manage vulnerability, risk, and incident response processes in alignment with FedRAMP, NIST RMF, and NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5 requirements.
• Support annual security assessments, including planning, scope definition, SAP preparation, security testing coordination, SAR development, POA&M updates, and project closure.
• Partner with engineering, product, operations, and security teams to drive risk mitigation, compliance improvements, and secure delivery of federal-facing cloud solutions.
• Educate and guide internal stakeholders on FedRAMP security requirements, continuous monitoring expectations, significant change processes, and compliance best practices.

Lead Governance and Compliance Analyst

Full-stack Engineer

• Own identity and trust at the core: Set the direction for how users, agents, and services authenticate and authorize across CoCounsel Legal.
• Own the design and evolution of authentication and authorization across CoCounsel Legal – considering roles, autonomous agents, etc.
• Partner with security, platform, and compliance teams on multi-tenancy isolation, data residency, privilege protection, and the audit trails that legal and government customers require.
• Join a tight group of senior engineers and researchers shipping quickly, with direct access to product leadership and customers.
• Technical leadership and cross-functional influence: Lead and/or design initiatives that cut across AI, product, identity, and infrastructure.
• Mentor staff and senior engineers, raising the bar on AI integration practices, system design, code quality, and security across the org.
• Help shape the team’s roadmap, technical strategy, and engineering culture – from experimentation practices to testing, rollout, and postmortems.
• Design for high-throughput, low-latency AI workloads: caching, queuing, rate-limiting, model failover, and cost/performance trade-offs.
• Work with large-scale data: millions of documents, retrieval and search, vector stores, and indexing strategies tailored to legal use cases.
• Establish and refine SLOs, observability, and incident response for AI systems that must be correct, auditable, and trustworthy in professional legal workflows.
