Assistant

• Assist the Chief NWQL in overseeing the daily operations of the NWQL department, including managing staff, resources, and projects
• Collaborate with the Chief NWQL in developing and implementing strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the NWQL department
• Ensure that all projects are completed within the specified timeline and budget
• Conduct regular performance evaluations of staff and provide feedback and coaching as needed
• Monitor and maintain quality control standards to ensure accurate and reliable results
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders
• Provide technical support and guidance to staff on laboratory procedures and methods
• Stay updated on industry developments and recommend changes to improve processes and procedures
• Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for staff
• Prepare and present reports on the performance of the NWQL department to senior management
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, as well as safety and regulatory guidelines

Assistant Chief NWQL

• Manages and supports front counter planning efforts with various public planning departments
• Writes staff reports, resolutions, ordinances, and presents them to commissions, boards, and councils
• Assists in support of a range of planning projects and/or multi-agency/multi-jurisdictional planning efforts
• Support the development of long-term and short-term plans, programs, goals, and policies involving city/region wide planning initiatives, public transportation systems, economic development, etc.
• Participates in the development and maintenance of the General Plan and other specialized city plans and ensures planning programs/projects are consistent with city planning principles/criteria, applicable regulations, and other relevant factors
• Serves as a consultant to citizen groups, and other stakeholders related to planning policies/standards, issues, processes, procedures, zoning/rezoning issues, ordinance changes, and environmental regulations
• Facilitates meetings and/or presentations to bring together interested stakeholders to discuss proposed planning initiatives, assess obstacles, evaluate opposing views and interests, and determine areas of support
• Designs and conducts research to collect and assemble original data from land use maps, plans, reports, and surveys and uses data to define issues, assess trends, make recommendations, and identify relationships among disparate data, issues, and positions

Assistant Planner

• Be present in the office, Monday through Friday from 8:30am - 5:00pm PT
• Greet employees, visitors, customers, and vendors, making them feel welcome and comfortable
• Manage the intercom system and the visitor registration system
• Assist with workplace safety, security, and office access
• Support employees and be point of contact for the office
• Manage lunch services
• Maintain and manage conference rooms, phone rooms, kitchen, and copy areas
• Restock and track office supplies, snacks, and beverages
• Stay on top of upcoming onsite meetings, including understanding the attendee list, their specific needs, and preparing the space for the meeting
• Keep the office tidy, clean, stocked, and organized
• Process and distribute incoming mail and packages
• Assist with answering workplace tickets in a kind and timely manner
• Work with IT on equipment requests
• Work with property management for visitor access and building maintenance requests
• Manage onsite vendors
• Create a positive workplace experience and environment for employees, visitors, customers and vendors
• Partner with the Workplace team to produce thoughtful and inclusive office experiences and events
• Support and provide back-up for the Workplace team
• Assist with ad-hoc projects when time allows
