Security Engineer

• Assist the security services shop with maintenance and repair work with the ongoing operations of the residence halls for University Housing and Dining (UHD)
• Perform maintenance and repair tasks independently or may assist journey-level craft workers with work orders
• Assist in providing a comfortable living environment for students in residence halls
• Assist security service shop staff in the installation, repair and maintenance of all types of locking hardware, exit devices and low voltage access equipment
• Assist security service shop with rekeying all types of locking hardware, work with master key systems, key cutting machines and key software

• Change power supplies, transformers, switches, outlets and perform minor electrical and low voltage (24V) repairs in the residence halls
• Daily walkthroughs in mechanical rooms, checking access equipment power supplies and replacing as needed as well as distinguishing between different colored wires, using various tools, and equipment to complete tasks
• Reporting any large issues to supervisor or manager that may need assistance from outside vendors
• Carry a UT cell phone and be on the on-call rotation and respond to emergencies as requested
• Perform and respond to emergency repairs 24/7 and facilitate completion as needed
• Must be able to work as a team member independently and in various work areas
• Work weekends and overtime as determined by the supervisor

Maintenance Worker II – Security Services

Learning and Development

• Serve as a strategic partner and internal consultant to departments in assessing training needs, identifying performance gaps, and recommending appropriate learning solutions.
• Design, develop and maintain engaging training content for instructor-led, virtual, and online formats.

• Provide timely computer desktop and technology support, various IT services, knowledge, and solutions to UHD end-users.

• Serves as senior administrative associate for the University Writing Center (UWC) and the Digital Writing and Research Lab (DWRL) and is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the UWC / DWRL Faculty Director(s) and UWC Sr. Academic Program Coordinator, faculty, staff, Assistant Instructors, writing consultants, and students.
• Key duties include student recruiting and evaluating UWC writing consultants; day-to-day account management and purchasing for the UWC / DWRL; formulating funding strategies for the UWC / DWRL; managing undergraduate student employees; managing the UWC / DWRL Systems Administrator; and planning short- and long-range goals and projects in the UWC/DWRL aligned with department/college strategic plans.
• Communicates with the Department of Rhetoric and Writing (DRW) through regular meetings with the DRW Department Manager, ensuring strong relationships with stakeholders, including colleagues, student staff, and service users.
• Serves as the UWC / DWRL liaison for administrative matters, maintaining communication with the College of Liberal Arts (CoLA), departments, and external agencies.
