General Counsel

• Works independently to draft, review, and revise agreements, including form agreements for routine sales activities, as well as non-standard agreements for customers, supplier, distributor, clinical, service and consulting agreements.
• Learn Avantor contracting policies and analyze draft contracts in accordance with policies
• Work with Sourcing, Sales and the IT team to advise on the review of complex IT vendor agreements and digital product contracting efforts.
• Develop and support the development of playbooks and templates for consistent legal review across IT, security engagements and technology agreements.
• Assist with the review of data processing agreements.
• Ensure alignment with IT and business strategies.
• Determine when complex legal and factual issues must be escalated to senior attorneys and assist in resolution of issues
• Assist in creating, implementing and managing systems that enable the efficient creation, negotiation, oversight and ultimately execution of Avantor’s agreements
• Coordinate contract negotiation with multiple cross-departmental functions
• Obtain all appropriate and necessary internal approvals for contract terms and provisions
• Identify opportunities for process improvements
• Perform file management and records retention duties
• Give and welcome constructive feedback; contribute to building a positive team spirit
• Requires advanced abilities for contract negotiation
• Requires ability to communicate with Senior Leadership across the firm regarding legal risks and advise on possible solutions based on expertise
• Provide assistance and guidance to Contracts Specialists within department
• Perform other duties as assigned

Associate Counsel

Operations

• Report to the Supervisor of Operation Specialist and work closely with Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
• Support multiple facilities and/or customers in a strategic geographic area and may perform the job functions of Coordinators, Technicians, Material Handlers, Glass Washers when scheduled vacations, leave, and /or emergency situations occur.
• Act as a backup to other territories and may require travel outside of the designated territory.
• Coordinates and leads team efforts and performs work related to customer requirements.
• Works closely with management to complete projects such as Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, On-The-Job Training, and other assorted tasks, along with direct customer interfacing relative to job functions.
• Utilizes AVANTOR and customer computer systems: SAP, Inventory Manager, Citrix, VBQ, Info Access, Intranet, Ariba, SAP, EZ Source, ESpree, Nexus, Pitney Bowes, UPS, Fedex, ChemSW, Coupa, JD Edwards, Oracle and customer-specific applications.
• Interfaces directly with customer Point-of-Contact, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers etc. to procure lab supplies and materials.
• Utilizes Avantor and customer computer systems: SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager, and/or other customer-specific applications.
• Trains Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on all service offerings.
• Provides SAP Support (Full customer services, credit rebills, and invoice scrubbing).
• Modifies and maintains quality metrics and key performance indicators.
• Manages a budget related to expense reports.
• Meets revenue, TOE, safety, performance, and quality goals and objectives.
• Creates programs for enhanced service efficiencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Onsite Services Operations Specialist

• Receive and distribute dry ice deliveries to laboratory teams.
• Perform weekly and annual inspections of all eyewash stations.
• Manage gas cylinders, including weekly and as-needed changeouts.
• Operate and maintain glasswash and autoclave services.
• Oversee inventory management across all point-of-use (POU) locations.
• Monitor, maintain, and adjust inventory stocking levels based on usage trends and demand fluctuations.
• Conduct monthly and/or quarterly meetings with lab managers and lab contacts to review inventory management (IM) lab lists.
• Review and monitor backorders daily.
• Coordinate onsite pipette calibration services.
• Submit purchase requisitions through eMarketplace.
• Manage ARIBA accounts, including troubleshooting invoice mismatches and system issues.
• Maintain and reconcile inherited blanket purchase orders (POs) to ensure funding aligns with invoiced charges.
• Follow up on shipping delays or supply-chain issues and liaise with the Avantor customer service team as needed.
• Transport samples between 2 building within walking distance.
• Receive all site deliveries, including packages, pallets, and freight, at the loading dock.
• Deliver packages to appropriate personnel and ensure temperature-sensitive shipments are placed in proper storage.
• Coordinate outgoing shipments for the site on an as-needed basis.
