Machine Learning Engineer

• Lead technical direction for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and LLM-powered intelligence across MaintainX products.
• Architect end-to-end ML systems—from data ingestion and feature engineering to model training, deployment, and monitoring.
• Mentor a growing team of ML and data engineers, instilling best practices for experimentation, evaluation, and model lifecycle management.
• Partner with product and engineering leaders to align AI roadmap with customer needs and business goals.
• Design reliable data and feedback loops that connect customer telemetry and operator feedback to model retraining.
• Drive performance optimization through techniques like quantization, distillation, and scalable inference serving.
• Work with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face) to build reasoning systems and agentic workflows for asset and work intelligence.
• Ensure ML infrastructure meets production standards for latency, reliability, explainability, and security.

• Own end-to-end execution of company-critical programs that span Core product, AI/ML, Platform, Infrastructure, and Enterprise teams.
• Lead design and delivery of highly complex initiatives in ambiguous or new technology areas; make tradeoffs across scope, quality, timing, and architectural debt.
• Establish OKRs, KPIs, and the operating rhythm (planning, reviews, retros, exec updates) that keep a fully distributed engineering org aligned and shipping.
• Surface cross-team risks early, provide escalation management, and steer teams away from prior failure patterns.
• Create scalable mechanisms and methodologies that hold up as the engineering org grows.
• Author strategy narratives, program plans, and exec memos; present to leaders two and three levels above with the clarity expected at the principal level.

• Champion software development excellence—ensuring strong CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments, observability, and agent orchestration practices.
• Provide visibility into team impact, progress, and risks to senior leadership—including agent-produced PR rates, adoption metrics, and quality guardrails.
• Collaborate with Recruiting and other Software Development Managers to hire, onboard, and scale a world-class platform engineering organization.
