• Ensures appropriate use of hospital resources by reviewing all patients admitted to the hospital and evaluating appropriateness of admission using approved criteria.

• Performs patient class change process in a timely and efficient manner at the direction of the physician advisor, attending provider, and/or in conjunction with the appropriate payer.
• Documents authorizations and downgrades according to departmental policy and procedure.
• Participates in the Performance Improvement process including assessment, implementation, and evaluation of new/updated processes to ensure goals are met each FY, as well as all procedures are streamlined for effectiveness and efficiency.

Case Manager – Utilization Management

• Provides mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention services for adult and/or child members who present with a broad range of mental health needs.
• Coordinates care for patients and assists them in accessing services and resources that will help maintain them in the community in the least restrictive environment.
• Oversees all utilization management activity to include authorization of services as well as management of denial and appeal process.
• Ensures all patient discharge planning documentation is clear, concise, timely, and congruent with treatment team recommendations.

• Protects and provides a safe environment for the hospitals, parking facilities, satellite facilities, employees, patients, and visitors
