About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides quality pharmaceutical care, and fills/dispenses medications in accordance with the latest pharmacy standard practices.
- Reviews prescriptions and medication orders for appropriateness and compatibility with current therapy, disease states, drug allergies, adverse drug effects, duplication of therapy and compliance.
- Communicates with all healthcare professionals and patients concerning medical care.
- Prepares and dispenses medications for all age groups.
- Evaluates evidence-based literature to offer appropriate clinical recommendations.
- Ensures and executes policies and procedures for safe medication use.
- Coordinates the activities of pharmacy technicians engaged in medication preparation.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Doctorate Pharmacy or Bachelor’s Degree Pharmacy
- Ability to accurately dispense and monitor medications.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to make independent judgments under stressful situations at times.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and accreditation standards related to the distribution and control of scheduled and non-scheduled drugs and pharmacy security.
