Spring by Action for Children

Field Engineer

• Representing a professional front facing service to Action for Children staff across Scotland.
• Responsible for attending sites, providing technically focused support and solutions.
• Oversee the commissioning and de-commissioning of sites providing technical input and resource.
• Support the Service Desk in providing remote support when not out in the field.
• Maintain professional development through research of recent and relevant developments in Technology.
• Apply continuous improvements to service and processes.
• Provide direction and guidance to less experienced IT staff.
• Develop strong relationships with remote service users and being the Ambassador for the Action for Children IT department.

Analyst

• Providing a professional technical service through face to face, telephone, ticket based and or email communication to Action for Children staff and partner organisations.
• Conduct the fulfilment of service requests, adhering to Technology policies, processes, procedures.
• Take responsibility for incident management, to resolve technical (including complex) incidents, quickly and efficiently.
• Maintain the Technology configuration management database.
• Investigating and identifying trends, gathering evidence to support further investigation by the appropriate teams.
• Process orders efficiently and expeditiously, ensuring payments match goods and services supplied.
• Responsible for the user account administration tasks needed to set up staff transferred to Action for Children.

Service Desk Analyst

People Operations

• Provide insight for the People Directorate colleagues and subject matter experts by providing people data and analytical commentary to help the organisation.
• Identify and impact key people metrics and themes in the core areas of the employee life cycle including recruitment, development, reward and benefits, payroll and people process.
• Provide a first point of contact regarding People related reporting and analytics, that support the service delivery of the People Directorate.
• Ensure that data standards and other process documentation are current, and help to update as we evolve our processes, embedding data standards into everyday People team processes.
• Gain insights through the data we collect, that guide decision making.
• Taking a lead role to protect the confidentiality of all people metrics and associated personal information.
• Supporting and working collaboratively with senior management to define, produce and communicate people insight and trends.
• Presenting context, insight and priorities in a variety of formats.
• Educate and drive adoption within the People team and wider colleagues on how data can be used to their advantage.

People Analyst

• You will provide a first point of contact for all staff and managers to answer and respond to information requests and advice on HR policies.
• Provide quality advice that is functionally consistent and accurate to managers, in response to employee relations matters.
• Utilise people and other related systems.
• Retain accurate, concise and clear notes to track cases, ensuring completion of closing procedures for all incident and service requests.
• Adopt a coaching approach, while providing advice and guidance, utilising agreed techniques, e-learning tools and systems.
• Take responsibility for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all HR policies and procedures.
• Support the delivery of incoming/outgoing transfers under TUPE.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times, in particular of sensitive HR data.

People Adviser

Affiliate Manager

• Providing professional advice and guidance to senior leaders and colleagues, to progress the development of an inclusive and diverse workplace.
• Collaborating with People Team colleagues to identify, design and deliver training programs, workshops, focus groups and forums.
• Collaborate with colleagues to embed D&I into organisational policies, leadership programmes, mandatory training, and team development efforts.
• Working with the wider People team and other colleagues at all levels, to inform and influence change in policies, practices, and provision.

Digital Marketing

• Support the implementation of effective and innovative digital campaigns to acquire new supporters to achieve recruitment and income targets.
• Planning and delivery of paid digital marketing for established campaigns.
• The effectiveness of assigned campaigns, applying digital excellence, leadership and to deliver against campaign goals.
• Running paid digital ad campaigns applying integrated paid media strategies (e.g. Google Ads and Meta Ad Manager).
• Managing a delegated campaign budget across multiple campaigns.
• Proactively working with product owners to design and run effective digital fundraising and marketing campaigns.
• Delivery of a Test and Learn structure in all aspects of digital marketing.

Senior Digital Marketing Officer

Communications

• Ensuring high value fundraisers have a suite of ‘off the shelf’ content they need to inspire and engage potential and existing supporters.
• Write high quality proposals, concept notes and other fundraising materials for major donors, trusts and foundations and corporate partners.
• Provide high quality stewardship, grant management and reporting materials for strategic grants.
• Advise fundraisers on the funding priorities across the organisation.
• Maintain an up to date, fit for purpose list of cost examples for use by teams across Fundraising.
• Build excellent working relationships across key teams, acting as the ‘go to’ for programmatic information.

Communications Officer

Events

• Work with colleagues to deliver a schedule of external events that will enable the charity to achieve its vision and mission.
• Work with colleagues to deliver a schedule of internal events to engage and inspire staff (i.e., staff conferences, awards and webinars).
• Develop long-term relationships with high value committee members and supporters to deliver challenging income targets.
• Work with the Events Manager to deliver the annual business activity plan for the team.
• Use creative, engaging methods of written and verbal communications to successfully negotiate with suppliers and external contacts.
• Work collaboratively with the Stakeholder Communications team to evaluate events and generate an ideas framework.
• Produce high quality event materials and support with the logistical planning of events.

Events Officer

• Through the People Advice Team, you will provide a first-class service of specialist HR advice and coaching.
• You will use best practice and insight gained from continued learning to provide pragmatic and informed solutions and ideas.
• You will source and use existing data to produce quantitative and qualitative data.
• Work collaboratively and engagingly with senior management.
• Provide expertise and contribution with bid and implementation teams, providing detailed and insightful knowledge and experience.

Administration

• Leading and managing a small team of administrative staff across the Talent and Development Team to deliver high quality, customer focused support services that facilitate the achievement of the team.
• Work closely with the senior management team to support the preparation of briefing papers (including referring to and interpreting statistical data), reports, communications and presentations.
• Work collaboratively with management colleagues to contribute and deliver against the management team agenda.

Team Leader – Administration

Payroll

• Checking and updating an integrated eHR/payroll database, to effect changes to salary, other payroll related data.
• Process statutory notifications and payments (e.g. SMP, SSP), voluntary deductions, third party payments and occupational entitlements.
• Work to agreed service standards and maintaining clear audit trails.
• Apply internal control procedures, checking system generated reports to ensure the integrity of submitted changes to the payroll.
• Ensure the correct adherence with TUPE scheme rules and other implications such as maternity differences and TUPE pension legislation.
• Work in conjunction with the People Insight Analyst to utilise systems and databases.

Payroll Officer

Product Manager

• Define our digital products and services.
• Understand user needs by conducting user research using a variety of techniques.
• Bring together multi-disciplinary teams - including our frontline service practitioners, IT, data and governance, fundraising, communications, safeguarding, and agencies, to ensure we explore the different ways of looking at a problem.
• Use design thinking, co-production and service design methods and tools to develop and manage digital platforms.
• Use a lean approach to product design and innovation.
• Map internal stakeholders and make a communication plan recognising the different levels of stakeholder involvement.

• Delivery of full the full project lifecycle from planning to implementation, to time, cost and quality parameters, including all relevant products and timescales for their delivery.
• Ability to set up and lead project governance boards and working groups.
• Engage, direct and support stakeholder involvement to participate and to enable achievement of project deliverables.
• Engage and work with Business Change and Business Analysts to ensure the realisation of benefits during the project lifecycle.
• Have good analytical skills.
• Manage project closure and handover to business as usual in a controlled way.
• Produce timely and relevant reports for the key stakeholders and the project steering group.
• Effectively manage project risks, issues and dependencies using appropriate project management techniques that adhere to Prince2 project management methodology.
• Professional representation of the department and in so doing, support the process of change to key stakeholders.
• Use of our Project Management Software to control the project throughout its life cycle. We use Mission Control, if you have experience of this software that would be beneficial.
