Software Engineer

• Conduct research into existing solutions and ML approaches for handling large amounts of data for Grid Operation.
• Develop, implement and evaluate ML algorithms for optimization of electrical grid operation data.
• Assist with the development of a business case for ML solutions identifying the value proposition for Southwire as well as end users.
• Support data collection, analysis and detailed reporting of findings.
• Assist in updating and creating ML documentation and AI/ML process flow diagrams.

Spark Engineering Intern

• Your intern assignment is generally 10-12 weeks, and co-op assignment is generally 16-18 weeks and will include an assigned project and opportunities to present your work.

• Champion customer-centric innovation by leading ideation workshops fostering cross-functional collaboration to uncover and address voice of customer pain points translating insights into actionable engineering requirements.
• Identify the customer’s technical pain points during the entire life cycle and translate them into new engineering requirements for products, tools, or field solutions.
• Summarize product features, functionalities, code compliance, and long-term performance and submit the ideas into the Stage-Gate process.
• Work directly with end users to specify products and services that meet Southwire’s five sustainability attributes from cradle to grave.
• Have proficient knowledge of NEC, NESC, UL, and other relevant industry standards and specifications.
