Support Engineer

• Barnet is setting up a new Selective Licensing Scheme requiring landlords to license their private rented properties
• Provide technical and administrative support to the Selective Licensing Team within Housing Regulatory Services
• Train and support more junior staff and work closely with the Team Manager auditing cases and ensuring process accuracy
• Act as the link between Team Managers and officers to ensure accurate and comprehensive scheme technical support
• Enable Technical Support Officers and Enforcement Officers to protect and improve the health, safety and welfare of every resident, worker and visitor within the Borough

Senior Technical Support Officer

• Support the Selective Licensing Team by validating applications and issuing licences
• Provide technical and administrative support to Housing Regulatory Services
• Enable Enforcement Officers to protect and improve the health, safety and welfare of residents, workers and visitors
• Draft legal documents and operate data management systems
• Deliver high-quality services to landlords and tenants in the borough

Technical Support Officer – Licensing

• Manage Technical Support Officers to secure and validate landlord licence applications
• Issue accurate, comprehensive, and legally robust licences and manage compliance across the life of the scheme
• Support Head of Housing Regulatory Services in delivering enforcement and licensing functions
• Ensure performance, financial, and corporate targets are met
• Respond to Freedom of Information requests, Subject Access Requests, Members' Enquiries, and Service Complaints
• Coordinate cross-service activities including training, data management, equipment, and operational requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the Housing Regulatory Services function
