• Represent the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in a variety of complex civil litigation matters

Assistant Attorney General – State Trial Counsel

Threat Intelligence Specialist

• The Senior Intelligence Analyst (SIA) will be responsible for developing tactical, operational and strategic intelligence information to support ongoing investigations and counter-drug operations.
• Serve as a strategic decision-maker for the implementation of the grant mission with the AGO Criminal Bureau, the Massachusetts State Police and their external partners.
• Supervise and provide guidance to the Intelligence Analyst.
• Conduct and manage complex research into drug cultivation and production, methods of transportation, trafficking routes, and the structure and analysis of trafficking organizations.
• Analyze aggregate datasets and develop methodologies to determine root causes, patterns, and opportunities to improve public safety and generate investigative leads.
• Use data collection and mapping software to compile information to create reports and recommendations for crime prevention and response techniques with local, state, and federal partners.
• Conduct preliminary vetting of incoming tips and intelligence.
• Prepare, summarize, and present investigative findings.
• Coordinate multi-agency collaboration and provide project management and intelligence analysis for all partners.

Paralegal – Insurance & Financial Services Division

Administrative Assistant

• Oversee daily administrative operations of the regional office, consistent procedures, and high-quality support across divisions.
• Provide high-level administrative support to WMAS Office leadership, including managing schedules and coordinating meetings.
• Guide and support administrative assistants and paralegals, including delegating work and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for internal teams and external partners, facilitating communication and coordination across the office.
• Support the planning and execution of office initiatives, events, and community outreach efforts.
• Manage office processes such as ordering supplies, coordinating reimbursements and travel requests, records management, and general office operations.
• Maintain and utilize tracking systems or databases to support reporting and operational needs.

Managing Administrative Assistant

Paralegal

• Provide day-to-day paralegal and administrative support to the employees of the WCPID.
• Drafting administrative, grand jury, and trial subpoenas, as well as witness summonses, preservation orders, and other correspondence, at the direction of prosecutors.
• Assisting with fact gathering using databases, open-source information, and other investigative techniques.
• Reviewing records, organizing large amounts of diverse information, and creating chronologies, summary charts, and spreadsheets to further investigations and summarize findings.
• Analyzing digital evidence in furtherance of investigations and prosecutions.
• Assisting in preparation of exhibits, slide decks, and summary charts for grand jury presentations, court hearings, and trials.
• Supporting litigation matters by drafting court pleadings and assembling, reviewing, and producing discovery, including notices of discovery.

• The Paralegal provides day-to-day paralegal and administrative support to attorneys across multiple divisions including the Gaming Enforcement Division, Human Trafficking Division, and Neighborhood Renewal Division, with supplemental support to the False Claims Division.
• Draft administrative, grand jury, and trial subpoenas; witness summonses; discovery requests; and preservation orders at the direction of prosecutors.
• Assist with trial preparation and case file management.
• Analyze and assist in the review of digital evidence in furtherance of investigations and prosecutions.
• Coordinate and schedule business and law enforcement witnesses.
• Maintain Office databases, such as the Criminal Bureau’s District Court Database.
• Support gaming related investigations and prosecutions in coordination with attorneys, investigators, other administrative staff and the Massachusetts State Police.
• Support investigations and prosecutions related to sex trafficking and labor trafficking in coordination with attorneys, investigators, victim witness advocates.
• Draft, file, and serve court documents, including petitions for appointment of receivers, affidavits, and orders.
• Manage calendars, including scheduling critical dates, deadlines, and case-related appointments.

• Screen and process incoming mail.

Attorney

• Handle a large caseload of primarily narcotics and firearms-related matters from investigation through sentencing.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, grand jury investigations, and appear before District and Superior Courts.
• Lead investigations with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
• Review search warrants and engage in extensive grand jury practice.
• Handle all phases of litigation in Superior Court, including motions to suppress and trials.

Assistant Attorney General – Enterprise & Major Crimes Division

• The Assistant Attorney General will handle a large caseload of primarily narcotics and firearms-related matters from investigation through sentencing.
• The work involves extensive collaboration with law enforcement, grand jury investigations throughout the Commonwealth, complex motion practice, and frequent appearances before the Commonwealth’s District and Superior Courts for motions, pleas, and trials.
• Responsibilities will also include, but are not limited to: Leading investigations conducted with the assistance of Massachusetts State Police Troopers assigned to the Attorney General’s Office, as well as investigators from other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, such as the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration; Reviewing all search warrants sought in connection with these investigations, which include, but are not limited to, GPS tracking, “ping” and cell-site simulator, cell-site location information (CSLI), and wiretap warrants; Extensive grand jury practice, including, but not limited to, immunization of witnesses, working with civilian witnesses/victims, and working with victim witness advocates; Handling all phases of litigation for cases stemming from these investigations in Superior Court, including motions to suppress, trials, and related civil forfeiture claims.

• Provide day-to-day litigation support for all aspects of the attorneys’ case responsibilities, including but not limited to: tracking and organizing discovery and court filings;
• Drafting case materials; cite checking, formatting, and finalizing legal memoranda;
• Compiling evidence and exhibits; and performing other duties as requested by attorneys.
• Case management is also a critical component of this role, including organizing files, trial support, indexing and record-keeping, and coordinating with enforcement partners.
• Some administrative and clerical duties, such as document filing, scheduling, and general office support will also be required.
