About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct complex criminal and civil investigations into allegations of fraud and abuse in the Medicaid program.
- Review complaints against providers and access Medicaid claims for data analysis.
- Research program rules and regulations and develop investigative plans.
- Analyze financial records and review medical records.
- Interview witnesses and conduct surveillance.
- Serve subpoenas, help execute search warrants, and draft investigative reports and memos.
- Collect and secure evidence and conduct public records searches.
- Serve as a witness in criminal and civil proceedings.
- Perform other investigative tasks necessary to root out fraud, waste, and abuse.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience for Investigator I.
- 3-4 years of relevant experience for Investigator II.
- 5 or more years of relevant experience for Investigator III.
- Background in complex criminal or civil investigations.
- Background in health care compliance, fraud investigations, regulatory compliance, auditing, or accounting.
- Law enforcement experience at the local, state, and/or federal level.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Access preferred.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Must have access to reliable transportation or a valid driver's license to travel as needed.
