About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the Grants Unit Director with the management of multiple grant programs that support the strategic priorities of the AGO.
- Facilitate the initial request for grant proposals.
- Review grant application materials.
- Update program guidelines.
- Contract with grantees.
- Review programmatic and fiscal reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate disbursal of grant funds.
- Provide technical assistance to grantees.
- Ensure successful grantee program completion.
- Prepare evaluation reports.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Director.
- Occasional travel to grantee sites in Massachusetts may be required.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A minimum of four years of experience in public sector/non-profit initiatives, program development, and/or grants management.
- Demonstrated commitment to public service.
- Ability to manage a portfolio of multiple programs independently.
- Financial competence in program budget oversight and payments coordination.
- Ability to oversee grantee reporting and coordinate grantee site visits.
- Experience synthesizing data and preparing program reports.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Practical experience using database or project management software.
- Ability to effectively engage with external parties and provide technical assistance to grantees.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in team environments.
- A self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized work style.
- Prior experience with federal grant programs, preferred.
