About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and assist with complex consumer protection investigations and litigations involving health care sector entities.
Conduct interviews, obtain documents, and take testimony through civil investigative demands.
Handle settlement negotiations and prepare for litigation.
Manage pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, trial, and settlement tasks.
Join AGO civil litigation teams challenging federal actions affecting the Commonwealth.
Work on health policy including monitoring trends related to health care costs and drafting/reviewing proposed legislation.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be a member of the Massachusetts Bar or eligible for admission by motion.
At least three (3) years of post-JD litigation, health law, consumer law, or equivalent experience preferred.
Previous experience in health law is desired but not required.
Excellent writing, legal analysis, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
Ability to quickly grasp complex legal, business, and financial concepts.
Ability to collaborate and represent the Office with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated commitment to practicing law in the public interest.
