• The Associate Vice President, Payroll serves as a key leader within the Office of Business and Finance.
• Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for one of the nation’s most complex payroll environments, serving employees across The Ohio State University and Wexner Medical Center.
• Responsible for setting the vision, strategy, and direction for Payroll Services, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations while advancing innovation, process improvement, and service excellence.
• Plays a critical role in aligning payroll strategy with the university’s broader financial, human capital, and technology priorities.
• Leads and develops a multi-functional Payroll organization, overseeing payroll operations, payroll tax administration, time and absence management, accounting, and systems teams.
• Provides leadership for the planning, organization, and execution of all biweekly and monthly payroll processes across all campuses, serving approximately 42,000 employees, while driving excellence in service delivery, operational efficiency, process quality, and team performance.

Associate Vice President, Payroll

• Leader responsible for market penetration through targeted Payroll campaigns that deliver incremental revenue from new and/or existing clients.
• Manage and achieve Division’s productive sales goal on a monthly basis while managing and leading a team of Territory Managers and Payroll Client Advisors.
• Recruit and interview TM and PCA candidates.
• Deploy divisional communication, manage PCA/TM activity.
• Develop TMs, build TM business plans, develop, manage, and enhance partnerships across internal teams and external organizations.
• Provide status updates to VP and/or SVP.
• Responsible for achieving minimum production requirements, including Install Margin Goal %.
• Lead weekly team meeting and weekly one-on-one with team members.
• Conduct monthly team training sessions.

Payroll Division Manager

• Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll accurately and on time using Workday
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions
• Coordinate payroll tax filings and payments through OSV
• Review and reconcile payroll data, including earnings, deductions, and benefit withholdings
• Audit and verify timekeeping records for completeness and accuracy
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner
• Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity within Workday
• Ensure retirement account contributions and loan repayments are processed, funded, and maintained accurately
• Prepare and compile data for annual Workers’ Compensation and 401(k) audits
• Monitor and process employee promotions, transfers, and terminations in a timely and accurate manner
• Support year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to ensure accurate payroll processing
• Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries professionally and promptly
• Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed

Payroll Specialist

• Serve as the functional owner for UKG Pro WFM for assigned locations and Operating Companies.
• Ensure system configuration aligns with pay, attendance, and operational policies.
• Support payroll operations by ensuring accurate, complete, and timely submission of time data.
• Monitor daily system health, including interfaces, integrations, and exception reporting.
• Provide payroll cycle support, including Monday payrolls.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of UKG Pro WFM integrations, including UKG Pro Payroll, SAP, and other downstream systems.
• Monitor and validate daily interfaces; troubleshoot failures and escalate with appropriate documentation.
• Identify and resolve demographic, pay rule, and configuration errors impacting payroll.
• Manage the ServiceNow ticket queue for assigned locations.
• Troubleshoot, document, and resolve issues within SLAs or escalate as needed.
• Perform root-cause analysis and partner with Payroll, HR IT, and UKG on sustainable fixes.
• Actively support and troubleshoot physical clocks and timekeeping devices in partnership with local ITC.
• Coordinate and support testing for UKG Pro WFM changes, enhancements, and releases
• Maintain strong understanding of location pay and attendance policies and their WFM configuration.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll readiness, accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Senior Payroll Analyst

• Compliance & Vendor Oversight: Oversee the timely and accurate filing of all federal, state, provincial, and local payroll tax returns—including Form 940, Form 941, Form W-2, and Canada Forms—by our outsourced payroll and settlement vendors.
• Account Reconciliation & Auditing: Perform regular plausibility audits and reconciliations of employee and employer payroll tax setups to identify and resolve discrepancies, while completing tax returns and requesting payments for Canada Workers' Compensation and other agency-related taxes.
• Agency Liaison & Problem Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for tax authorities to handle notices, audits, and new tax identification number registrations, while directly addressing executive escalations and stakeholder inquiries.
• System Optimization: Partner with internal teams and our tax preparer to thoroughly test and implement mandatory tax updates within our Workday payroll system.
• Reporting & Strategic Support: Prepare periodic trend reports regarding tax liabilities and potential financial impacts for senior management, while supporting corporate activities such as mergers and acquisitions.

Senior Payroll Tax Analyst

• Provide consulting services for SAP Human Capital Management (HCM) applications
• Analyze client requirements and implement HCM software solutions
• Provide training and support for seamless integration
• Coach and motivate teams to solve complex problems

Senior Manager, SAP Human Capital Payroll & Time

• Independently maintain, update, and process payroll timely and accurately
• Additional duties include maintenance of employee records in the HRIS system, report generation, and administration of benefits
• Process biweekly payroll, including validation of employee data, special payroll runs, and adjustments
• Improve payroll and commission processes for efficiency and accuracy
• Maintain payroll records, including manual checks, stop payments, direct deposit updates, and special pay items (commissions, bonuses, garnishments)
• Monitor payroll tax filings and year-end processes completed by vendor (e.g., W-2s) to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Conduct research, provide guidance, and ensure compliance with federal and state wage payment regulations
• Maintain accurate HRIS records (new hires, terminations, pay changes, benefits, etc.) and generate reports as needed
• Complete Verifications of Employment for current and former employees as needed
• Serve as primary point of contact for payroll and HRIS inquiries, researching and resolving issues promptly
• Manage employee benefits lifecycle, including enrollments, payroll deductions, and HSA and 401(k) administration, while partnering with vendors (Paylocity & Fidelity)
• Review benefits discrepancy reports from vendors and work with Paylocity and Vendor to efficiently resolve discrepancies with minimal impact to employees
• Monitor pending coverage as a result of Evidence of Insurability and follow up with Vendor and/or employee as necessary
• Facilitate COBRA administration through Paylocity
• Ensure terminated employees are transferred to COBRA Admin portal and appropriate paperwork is distributed by Paylocity
• Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and payroll data and adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards
• Provide support to the HR team and assist with additional duties as needed

Payroll & Benefits Administrator

• To process payroll actions based on changes in leave status.
• To ensure the accurate and timely entry of data.
• Support delivery of the highest quality of customer service as a point of contact for internal and external customers and clients.
• Ensures data integrity by accurately interpreting the leave and disability claims data coding hierarchy and applying the correct leave and disability codes into the payroll and time and attendance system.
• Review reports for claim accuracy; processes and balances colleague time card file based on client's paid time off policy.
• Responds to inquiries from Human Resources and internal business partners regarding plan provisions and administrative procedures
• Assists department in evaluating results of absence programs and best practices in absence administration.
• Assists management with special projects as assigned.

Workforce Absence Payroll Coordinator

• Oversee and support a team responsible for tax return filings

Payroll Tax Supervisor

• Conduct bi-weekly payroll for over 500 program participants across Ohio and Indiana.
• Audit and maintain digital payroll files, ensuring all database scans and documentation are complete and compliant.
• Monitor bi-weekly payroll changes to guarantee all transmittals are processed accurately within strict deadlines.
• Act as a primary liaison for staff, host agency supervisors, and participants to resolve payroll inquiries via phone, email, and in-person meetings.
• Support program participants directly by guiding them through the completion of timesheets to ensure they are paid correctly and on time.
• Respond to external verification requests and prepare specialized payroll reports as required by leadership.
• Facilitate internal and external audits by organizing data and managing specific documentation requests.
• Apply basic accounting principles to ensure all financial tracking and general clerical tasks align with organizational standards

Payroll Specialist – Part Time

• Strong contributor to organizational tax reporting, tax planning and compliance function
• Oversees the completion of accurate tax returns to manage risk and minimize the tax obligations of the organization
• May also complete or assist with the completion of tax accounting entries and account reconciliations
• Shows initiative and demonstrates autonomy in managing technical tax areas
• Coordinates, facilitates and resolves all taxing authority inquiries and audits

• Ensure timely collection and processing of employee time with HR Business Partners

HR Payroll Director

• Own and drive net-new payroll sales into strategic restaurant accounts, including national and regional franchise brands
• Prospect and develop a pipeline of qualified payroll opportunities through outbound outreach, inbound referrals, and cross-sell motions within the existing R365 customer base
• Lead discovery conversations with HR, Payroll, Finance, and Operations leaders to uncover workforce pain points and align R365 Payroll solutions to business outcomes
• Execute a consultative, value-based sales process from first contact through close, including demos, proposals, and negotiation
• Partner with Sales Engineers to deliver compelling platform demonstrations tailored to payroll and workforce workflows in the restaurant industry
• Develop and present business cases quantifying the ROI of migrating to R365 Payroll — including labor cost reduction, compliance risk mitigation, and administrative time savings
• Collaborate with the broader Strategic Accounts team to identify payroll expansion opportunities within existing R365 accounting and operations customers
• Maintain accurate pipeline data, activity logs, and revenue forecasts in Salesforce & Gong
