About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversees all activities of payroll processing and payroll tax functions.
  • Establishes and maintains processes for timely and accurate payment.
  • Reviews systems, controls, and procedures for maximum accuracy and service quality.
  • Manages, reviews, and audits weekly GL entries.
  • Acts as a functional expert for Payroll/Time system and partners with Finance.
  • Leads, develops, and engages Payroll Operations team.
  • Manages talent aspects including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Drives service delivery and accountability for the Payroll operations team.
  • Manages project management and process improvement for Payroll Operations.
  • Coordinates special reports and audits for payroll compliance.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 7-9 years multi-state payroll processing and tax experience Required
  • Payroll Certification Required
  • Familiarity with Federal, State and local tax laws (Medium proficiency)
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication (High proficiency)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • People leadership; fosters a strong sense of team, leads team to drive results (High proficiency)
  • Ability to maintain complex payroll records, summaries, and reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to build processes, seek, evaluate, implement best practices, and operational efficiencies.
