System Administrator

• Provides backups of all NYS Linux systems serving NYC HRA WMS users
• Maintains integrity of critical backup files stored on disk
• Writes and maintains required shell scripts to administer the NYS Unisys Forward/ES3000 SUSE Linux systems
• Monitors local Linux system performance, manages system swap space and establish CRON jobs as needed
• Provides load balancing functions on the local NYS Unisys Forward/ES3000 SUSE Linux servers and coordinates, when necessary, the moving of users from server to server
• Install new SUSE Linux software levels, and patches onto the local NYS Forward/ES3000 Linux server environment
• Examines and fixes any problems related to the Unisys Forward/ES3000 Linux servers, routinely checks and fix problems in the base and host files when necessary
• Migrate and activate, when necessary, the local WMS software application updates to the 500+ logical partitions running on the Unisys Forward environment
• Monitors and troubleshoots issues relating to Asynchronous Terminal Servers, Printers and terminals
• Checks usage and determines user needs of this hardware
• Provide consulting / technical services in support of NYS ITS infrastructure and software environment including Unisys proprietary and industry available technology

Junior Linux System Administrator

Customer Support

• Provides courteous assistance over the phone, following prescribed scripts to guide callers through form submissions for disaster relief and emergency management claims.
• Handles high call volumes in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintains detailed records of customer interactions and processing accounts in CRM.
• Follows policies and guidelines to resolve inquiries and ensure full resolution.
• Remote, short-term seasonal position; requires US citizenship and ability to pass FEMA background check.

Customer Service Representative

• Provide courteous assistance over the phone, following prescribed scripts to guide callers through form submissions, ensuring accurate completion to facilitate processing of claims or applications related to disaster relief and emergency management efforts
• Manage a high volume of incoming calls
• Identifying and resolving customer issues accurately and efficiently
• Providing high quality response to customer inquiries and needs
• Building sustainable relationships with customers through professional communication
• Providing accurate, timely, and complete information by using the right methods and tools
• Responding to customer inquiries relating to client services, providing appropriate solutions and alternatives, and following up to ensure full resolution

Data Analyst

• Collect operations performance data, as well as analyzing such data, processes, and management issues to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide reporting and data analytic/visualizations services to support all Internal Sites and data repositories.
• Perform business analysis and make recommendations to improve performance – may include strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats analysis, business process mapping, sludge audits, and other analysis relevant to operations performance and development such as assessing emissions from staff commuting and discretionary or non-discretionary travel, developing recommendations to incentivize partners to develop pathways to becoming net zero organizations, etc.
• Support the conduct of Mission Management Assessments to promote organizational health and learning as outlined in Agency guidance.
• Conduct management assessments of specific operating units or processes and provide recommendations to improve performance.
• Use statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends to aid in organizational decision-making and strategic direction.
• Use automated solutions to extract data from primary and secondary data repositories and third-party data sources.
• Perform analysis to assess data quality and meaning and represent data in a logical and understandable manner.
• Develop data visualizations using Tableau Server or Microsoft’s Power BI and publish results within SharePoint on-prem and/or SharePoint Online.
• Interpret and analyze data using statistical techniques, python, and business intelligence tools (primarily Tableau and Power BI)
• Develop interactive data collection tools using third party services such as Qualtrics or other web-based data collection instruments.
• Support the creation of visuals and graphics to be used in audit reports.
