Full-stack Engineer

• Design and implement core Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions to ensure the secure and scalable operation of Planet's services.
• Actively work on major platform modernization initiatives, including the full migration from legacy tooling to new solutions.
• Manage cloud-based infrastructure services, notably our fleet of Kubernetes clusters, and associated tooling to meet internal needs and support customer-facing service level agreements.
• Enhance and maintain observability for key platform services, leveraging Grafana and other tools to establish Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and improve operational readiness.
• Implement improvements and features for core systems owned by the team, such as GKE clusters, public API gateway, and other managed infrastructure solutions.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to refine the developer experience (DevEx) of our managed infrastructure.

Software Engineer, Platform Operations

Administration

• Partner with our external record-keeper and consultants to execute employee equity transactions, ensuring accurate and timely record keeping
• Work with legal counsel to ensure timely creation of new grant agreements and necessary updates to existing grant agreements for equity plan changes as well as pertinent regulatory changes
• Ensure compliance with all stock-based compensation reporting requirements, including Section 16, Proxy, and forms 10-K/Q, including drafting and filing of all Forms 3, 4 and 5 for corporate officers and directors
• Assist with stock-based compensation accounting, reporting and analysis; Generate recurring reports for multiple internal and external corporate partners (HR, Payroll, Finance, Accounting, Tax, etc.), and respond to both routine and ad-hoc data requests on a timely basis.
• Ensure compliance with all domestic and international laws for income and tax withholdings for stock options, RSUs and other equity grants and ensure accurate reporting on W-2s or other forms of participant tax reporting
• Assist in managing the insider trading compliance program, including managing the stock trading windows, as well as the pre-clearance process and personnel
• Partner with our external transfer agent to settle transactions and maintain share reserves
• Manage the processing of grants, stock option exercises, restricted stock releases, terminations and other transactions
• Support the preparation of the annual proxy statement
• Provide excellent customer service to equity participants at all levels and to partners across departments

Accounting Manager

• Serve as the internal expert on ASC 606. Interpret complex contracts to determine the proper accounting treatment.
• Research, draft, and maintain technical accounting memos to document the company's position on complex, non-routine revenue transactions.
• Responsible for Planet’s revenue accounting in North American and APJC, including the month/quarter/year-end close process, journal entries, reconciliations, flux analysis and related reporting and disclosures while operating in an effective SOX framework.
• Act as a critical partner to the Sales, Finance/FP&A, Legal, Sales Operation on deal structure and guidance on the contractual terms for revenue compliance.

• Preparing export/import authorization requests required to support international sales and company operations, to include reviewing business documents to assist in scoping export-import authorizations to support business objectives
• Managing the full lifecycle of export/import authorizations, to include internal training/implementation, preparation and submission of post-approval regulatory filings, review of associated export activity, and associated recordkeeping
