Customer Success Manager

• Ensure that customers are in a position to adopt and see the value of our products
• Provide a low-touch onboarding and training experience
• Deliver necessary support to ensure successful delivery of our services and produce timely solutions according to Planet’s low-touch model
• Communicate consistently with clients throughout the contract life-cycle, escalating important issues where needed
• Work closely with Finance, Product, Sales and other teams across the company
• Set the right expectations for clients and partners and redirect them to the appropriate resources
• Initiate negotiations and execute timely contract renewals and expansions
• Identify opportunities for upselling or expanding the use of the product or services

Support Engineer

• Second-line support — Own escalations from the service desk; diagnose and resolve complex endpoint, application, identity, and connectivity incidents remotely.
• Request fulfilment — Deliver technical service requests including software deployment, device configuration, and access changes to SLA.
• Endpoint troubleshooting — Investigate Windows and macOS issues, profile and policy problems, performance, and application faults to root cause.
• Identity & access — Administer Entra ID / Active Directory accounts, groups, MFA, and shared mailboxes in line with security and JML policy.
• Remote tooling — Use remote support and endpoint management tooling (Intune, JAMF, remote control) to resolve issues without a desk visit.
• Escalation & collaboration — Escalate to L3 specialists and vendors with full diagnostics; own the ticket through to resolution.
• Knowledge & enablement — Produce knowledge articles and coach L1 analysts to shift resolution left and reduce escalations.
• Problem management — Identify recurring issues and raise problem records; drive permanent fixes with L3 teams.
• Asset & documentation — Maintain accurate asset, configuration, and ticket records throughout the support lifecycle.

Full-stack Engineer

• Own the strategy, architecture, standards, and roadmap for the entire database estate across AWS, Azure, and on-prem
• Build, lead, and mentor the in-house DBA pod
• Embed FinOps as a daily discipline
• Lead the database workstream of the cloud migration and drive ongoing modernisation and technical-debt reduction
• Set and assure resilience standards - high availability, disaster recovery, backup and recovery, and RTO/RPO

Compliance

• Standardises and enhances control testing methodologies and practices to ensure meets stakeholder expectations
• Partners with relevant business units and control owners to document processes and assess the appropriateness and completeness of the key risks and controls identified
• Controls testing execution including walkthroughs, design, and operating effectiveness testing
• Escalates and communicates findings from testing to stakeholders
• Analyse the severity of control deficiencies and their impact
• Validate and monitor remediation of issues through assessment of the corrective actions performed

• Maintain and augment the automation and services ultimately responsible for the operation of Planet’s satellites. This includes but is not limited to:
• Specify and implement new HTTP APIs and help improve existing ones.
• Evaluate and choose appropriate software technologies.
• Design and deploy critical infrastructure.
• Contribute with a team that values open and honest communication, collaboration, self-learning and initiative to solve problems big and small.
• Work closely with various teams across Planet, ranging from Satellite and Ground Operations, to Pipeline and Product teams to ensure the satellite constellation meets all of the needs to achieve Planet’s missions.

Software Engineer – Missions Software

Engineer

• Contribute to the full development lifecycle: from discovery and decomposition to designing, building, and deploying bespoke solutions for customer challenges.
• Design and develop robust, full-stack software, including front-end, back-end, data integration, cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS), and CI/CD pipelines.
• Work directly with customers to understand their operational challenges and translate them into clear technical requirements.
• Identify reusable patterns in customer solutions to inform broader platform development.
• Leverage the latest AI tooling and an AI-first mindset to drive rapid iteration, deliver value quickly, and adapt to evolving requirements with a bias for action.
• Mentor other engineers, contribute to code reviews, and help foster a collaborative team environment.
• Deliver critical commitments on time, understanding their direct impact on customer relationships and business objectives.

Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Artificial Intelligence

• Identify and prioritize high-value commercial use cases where Planet's imagery archive, Planet Analytic Feeds, Planetary Variables, and embeddings infrastructure generate differentiated economic signals — with emphasis on financial services, supply chain, energy, and infrastructure verticals
• Spearheads a technology innovation pipeline from initial hypothesis through MVP validation, building demo-ready prototypes on Planet's platform well ahead of full product investment
• Partner with Commercial Sales and Customer Success leadership to systematically convert field insight and customer conversations into structured, repeatable AI-enabled concepts
• Provide support to translate validated prototypes into prioritized product roadmap inputs, coordinating across Product, Data Science, and Engineering to create a credible path to scale
• Serve as a senior thought partner to Commercial leadership, framing where AI-driven differentiation is both technically achievable and commercially viable
• Drive adoption of innovation outputs by embedding new tools and frameworks into Sales plays, Customer Success workflows, and partner programs

• Drive customer retention through proactive value delivery, regular business reviews, and identifying new opportunities for improvement.
• Act as the primary escalation point for strategic customers; resolve issues swiftly in collaboration with support, product, and engineering teams.
• Develop and maintain long-term account strategies aligned with customer goals and internal business objectives.
• Identify and execute on upsell and cross-sell opportunities by understanding evolving customer needs and aligning them with product offerings.
