• Design and build APIs and SDKs that power embedded insurance and retirement benefits for platforms worldwide
• Contribute to core APIs and SDKs: build new features and improve existing ones
• Work closely with senior engineers on architecture, design, and code reviews
• Improve developer experience by simplifying workflows into elegant APIs
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and integrations teams to deliver solutions
• Gradually lead projects, participate in incident response, and contribute to blameless learning culture

Product Engineer, Backend

• Shape and design APIs and SDKs that power embedded insurance and retirement benefits
• Design resilient systems and create developer-first experiences
• Partner closely with designers, engineers, integrations team, and benefit experts
• Take ownership end-to-end from technical architecture and system design to incident response
• Serve as an incident responder and drive continuous improvement of developer-facing APIs and docs
• Build and enhance products to scale Kota’s API and embed products
• Transform inefficient internal workflows into self-service features
• Lead technical efforts to resolve customer-reported issues as part of incident response
