Backend Engineer

• Develop, optimize, and maintain backend services using Java, leveraging internal framework components
• Be a key contributor in the architectural decisions which help us build the framework.
• Work on data pipelines that power operations for various different sports like American football or ice hockey
• Deploy and scale applications in AWS (Lambda, S3, Apache Flink, etc.)
• Work on event-driven architectures
• Collaborate with other engineers in the team to meet high-impact project deadlines
• Ensure system reliability and performance in high-traffic, real-time environments

Recruitment

• Act as the operational backbone of global Operations recruitment process
• Manage inbound applications from candidates interested in becoming operators at live sporting events
• Review applications, communicate with candidates, and guide them through each stage of the process
• Coordinate interviews across multiple time zones, working closely with hiring managers and regional operations leads
• Ensure candidate pipelines are organised, and data is accurate within the Applicant Tracking System, Ashby
• Identify inefficiencies in the hiring workflow, introduce small automations, improve candidate communications, and help scale the process during peak seasonal hiring periods
• Help the team prepare for peak hiring windows and ensure handling of higher application volumes smoothly

Talent Coordinator – Operations Recruitment

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement components for our Tooling systems
• Working on a range of challenges — from hardware interfacing and network protocols to audio/video processing and UI
• Building efficient, robust multithreaded C++ code
• Taking part in field testing and supporting deployments at live sporting events
• Partnering with product teams and customers to refine and deliver the best solutions
