Solutions Engineer

• Validate business and technical requirements for platform solutions in close collaboration with actuaries, engineers, and product managers
• Design and architect solutions that accommodate the full spectrum of life insurance and annuities products—from term life to complex cash value, variable, and indexed products with riders
• Serve as the go-to expert on life insurance product structures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
• Partner with engineering teams to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and meet the needs of modern insurers while supporting legacy product portfolios
• Translate complex insurance requirements into clear, actionable guidance that engineering teams can build against

Solutions Architect

Data Engineer

• Transform and build robust solutions for transferring data from first and third-party applications to and from our data warehouse
• Envision and design toward industry patterns on data exchange with our enterprise clients through a mix of traditional push delivery, cloud, and event-driven (eg: API, grpc) data sharing methods.
• Support implementation and data integration as new partners roll onto the Bestow platform, and recommend improvements on configurability of platform.
• Making decisions as a team. The things you build will be maintained and improved upon by others; there is a shared responsibility to make defensible design considerations and high collaboration.
• Champion test-first design principles, proactively writing tests before code to maintain high coverage and pipeline reliability.
• Develop hardened and repeatable (CI/CD) data models and pipelines to enable reporting, modeling and machine learning.
• Ensure data quality through automated monitoring and alerting, and occasionally serving within an on-call rotation.
• Leverage Google Cloud (GCP) tools (eg: Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Vertex AI, App Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM, etc.) and services (eg: Astronomer - Apache Airflow) to bring data workloads to production.
• Drive and support MLOps to improve Data Science monitoring and governance
• Enable and support Generative AI (eg: LLM) pipelines, allowing internal teams to quickly prototype. Support the architecture and rollout of GenAI products and features into the marketplace.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, stakeholders and data teams to deliver informed solutions to platform and client needs

Senior Data Engineer

• Work extensively with internal and external engineers, product managers, customer experience, and account managers to lead bug fixes and solutions as they arise with our products.
• Align with internal Product Managers to coordinate bug fixes and enhancements while helping to guide internal engineering teams to understand external partner limitations and issues as they crop up.
• Work directly with the leadership, product management, support staff, and engineers of our enterprise customers to resolve their issues and serve as a technical representative of our products.
• Occasionally build new features for internal teams and/or external customers.
• Lead by example and serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level peers.
• Maintain and build internal and customer-facing documentation (including but not limited to how-to and knowledge base articles).
• Monitor FTK services on a fixed cadence to ensure our product is never in a state that renders it unusable to our partners and their customers.

Senior Technical Solutions Engineer

• Work jointly with external/internal engineers, product managers, customer experience, and account managers to assist in providing bug fixes and solutions as they arise with our products.
• Work closely with internal Product Managers to coordinate bug fixes and enhancements while helping to guide the internal engineering teams to understand external partner limitations and issues as they crop up.
• Maintain and build internal as well as customer-facing documentation (including but not limited to how-to and knowledge base articles).
• Monitor FTK services on a fixed cadence to ensure our product is never in a state that renders it unusable to our partners and their customers.

Technical Solutions Engineer

Frontend Engineer

• Lead the evolution of our cutting-edge frontend platform, driving architectural decisions and establishing patterns that enable scalable experiences across the organization
• Architect and implement complex user interfaces, setting standards for accessibility, performance, and responsive design while mentoring others on best practices
• Partner with backend engineers to design and evolve our platform capabilities
• Provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams, influencing product direction and technical roadmaps while ensuring alignment between user needs, business objectives, and technical excellence
• Champion engineering excellence through comprehensive testing strategies, establishing team standards for unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Lead by example in code reviews, providing thoughtful feedback that elevates team capabilities and maintains architectural consistency

Staff Frontend Software Engineer

Engineering Manager

• Lead a team of Backend Software Engineers responsible for Bestow's payment processing infrastructure
• Partner with Product Managers, Finance, Compliance, and external partners to develop and support solutions that power premium collection, disbursements, and financial reconciliation across the platform
• Collaborate with teams across Bestow to plan and execute the product roadmap
• Share responsibility for operating our workloads on Google Cloud Platform's Kubernetes and composed of several microservices written in Go
• Build reliable, PCI-compliant payment processing capabilities that support multiple payment methods, automated reconciliation, and seamless partner integrations
• Remain hands-on in the code and actively participate in system design and architecture decisions
• Regularly review pull requests, providing thoughtful feedback that elevates code quality
• Drive large initiatives from conception through delivery
• Own Stripe and Adyen integrations including payment method management, transaction processing, webhook handling, and reconciliation workflows
• Lead PCI compliance efforts including IVR payment solutions, secure card data handling, and maintaining PCI-DSS compliance across payment touchpoints
• Design card and ACH payment flows including forward API integrations, SEC code implementation for ACH transactions, and hard decline management strategies
• Build financial reporting infrastructure for disputes, refunds, chargebacks, suspense accounts, and dispute reversals
• Implement payment failure handling including exposure of payment failures in data feeds, retry logic, and operational alerting
• Drive payment operations improvements including checks automation, reducing manual intervention, and streamlining reconciliation processes
• Orchestrate effective engineering ceremonies that promote collaboration and continuous improvement
• Create personalized growth plans for each team member, identifying strengths and development areas

• Remain hands-on in the code and actively participate in system design and architecture decisions.
• Regularly review pull requests, providing thoughtful feedback that elevates code quality.
• Drive large initiatives from conception through delivery.
• Lead Auth0 optimization efforts including migration from Authorization Extension to Authorization Core.
• Architect authentication/authorization separation to enable independent scaling, caching, and policy management.
• Design token management strategies and implement SCIM integration for automated user provisioning.
• Orchestrate effective engineering ceremonies that promote collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Create personalized growth plans for each team member, identifying strengths and development areas.
