• Provide direct support to people with psychiatric conditions in a residential Group Living Environment designed to foster independence.
• Work together with the people we serve, their families, friends, employers, and other support staff to transform their lives by either building independence skills or increasing each person's quality of life.
• Administer medication under the Medication Administration Plan (MAP) and assist people with activities of daily living, such as household chores and cooking.
• Work alongside the Clinical Program Director to implement treatment plans which are recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent and strengths-based approaches.
• Help orient PS who are new to the residence.
• Collaborate with Integrated Team members as needed to address needs of PS.
• Implement PS Treatment Plan interventions as directed by the by Team LPHA Clinician.
• Perform day-to-day assignments as directed by the Program Director.
• Use recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent and strengths-based approaches with PS.
• Adhere to safety, maintenance, Human Rights and other operational policies and procedures.
• Comply with physical site licensing standards and regulations.
• Store, administer, document and dispose of PS medication consistent with Medication Administration Program (MAP) requirements, funding source regulations and company policy, if applicable.
• Ensure program compliance with Vinfen MAP protocols.
• Teach PS medication management.
• Create opportunities for PS to participate in the smooth operation of the residence, including participating in meal preparation, physical site maintenance, etc.
• Encourage social interaction between residents and help create a collaborative environment where PS, family, friends, and others important in the lives of PS are welcome, respected and valued.
• Serve as a resource for neighbors.
• Help PS prepare meals.
• Act as an advocate for PS.
• Participate in trainings; attend supervision and staff meetings as requested.
• Assist with the orientation of new staff.
• Complete all required documentation.
• Contribute to program’s quality improvement goals and objectives.
• Help PS use crisis intervention techniques when necessary. Access on-call back up when needed.
• Support the provision of evidence-based practices and best practices to PS, including Motivational Interviewing; Harm Reduction; Housing First; Stages of Change; Wellness Recovery Action Plans (WRAP); Seeking Safety and Cognitive Behavioral interventions.
• Complete incident documentation as needed.
• Perform physical site maintenance activities following maintenance schedule.
• Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Residential Counselor, Mental Health Services

• Responsible for overnight program activities in a community living arrangement.
• Provide individual and group support to persons served; teach skills to enhance independence and quality of life.
• Ensure a safe, secure and clean residential environment.
• Assist in implementing treatment programs, including ISP/ PSTPs and clinical programs. May participate in treatment planning process.
• Maintain records for persons served. Collect behavior and academic data and maintain progress notes.
• Document all information related to incidents, programs and routine activities in a communication log.
• Provide training and support to persons served in completing ADLs, including showering, personal hygiene, dressing and household chores.
• Conduct fire and safety training for persons served and document in training log.
• Monitor physical and emotional needs, and report changes to supervisor.
• Store, administer, document and dispose of medication for persons served consistent with MAP requirements, funding source regulations and Company policy.
• Participate in all mandated training and staff meetings as directed by the Site Manager.
• Assist with the orientation of new staff. Ensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory bodies.
• Comply with all corporate and divisional policies and procedures, including safe work practices, worker’s compensation, universal precautions and exposure control.
• Perform hands-on tasks in the program as required, in order to facilitate implementation of support plans. Ensure program site safety and maintenance as necessary. This may include general housekeeping, snow shoveling and garbage removal. Provide transportation as necessary.
• Ensure required staff to person served ratio is maintained at all times. Must perform last minute coverage as required.
• Provide physical intervention and/or first aid in the event of behavior or medical emergency. Serve as a reporter to the Disabled Persons Protections Commission.
• Must remain awake, alert and dressed throughout the entire shift.

Overnight Residential Counselor

• Review incoming samples for clarity of physician orders; identify cases that do or may require additional information; contact clients for urgent resolution or complex cases
• Provide technical expertise to clients regarding optimal management of pregnancies at risk for rare single gene disorders; help clients understand and interpret both diagnostic and screening results
• Manage all aspects of sending and reporting specialized genetic tests, including taking incoming client call, reviewing specimen requirements and the need for parental samples, as indicated
• Utilize multiple laboratory based computer applications to ensure proper scheduling of specimens submitted for molecular testing
