About the role
- Manage and deliver commercial procurement and supply chain projects supporting the National Accounts Team
- Assist Senior Commercial Manager in leading end-to-end delivery of commercial projects; define scope, milestones, and maintain accountability
- Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams and allocate resources to optimise project delivery
- Negotiate with suppliers on large projects/tenders to improve commercial terms and drive value-added opportunities
- Prepare competitive pricing models and commercial proposals with Key Account Managers; assemble specialist personnel
- Support UK and pan-European tenders; contribute pricing analysis, sourcing intelligence, and commercial structuring
- Manage specialist stock planning and supply chain requirements to meet customer expectations and service levels
- Monitor project delivery against KPIs (revenue growth, gross margin, profitability); identify and mitigate risks
- Maintain accurate documentation, prepare reports, lead post-project reviews, and promote process optimisation
- Act as central liaison between Procurement, Sales, Operations, and Customer teams; report to Senior Purchasing Manager
Requirements
- Proven experience managing complex commercial or procurement projects within manufacturing, distribution, or packaging
- Strong knowledge of procurement, sourcing, and supplier negotiation strategies
- Experience supporting national tendering processes
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills
- Highly analytical with strong commercial acumen and attention to detail
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Desirable: Experience in the packaging, FMCG, or industrial products sector
- Desirable: Familiarity with working in multi-national, matrix organisations
- Desirable: Knowledge of European markets and suppliers would be an advantage
