Lead the Refractive Account Managers who provide specialized technical training and customer support in clinical and surgical environments.
Foster a customer-centric organization delivering consistent, high-quality post-sale training support to internal and external customers.
Provide first-line medical, clinical applications and sales support, including onsite support for the ZEISS Laser Platform in the US.
Manage, mentor, and train Refractive Account Managers including scheduling, expense control, customer satisfaction, and training excellence.
Drive procedure volume growth by educating clinical staff on the benefits of ZEISS products over competitors.
Maintain comprehensive training materials and programs to support ongoing education for internal teams.
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, sales, product management, and other departments to ensure training content is current and clinically relevant.
Instruct classroom lectures and laboratory sessions at regional and national meetings; represent Zeiss at trade shows and wet labs.
Interface with internal and external customers to develop course content specifications and influence purchasing decisions based on clinical needs.
Requirements
Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience as a Clinical Applications Specialist with refractive laser technologies.
Prior leadership experience supervising or managing a team of Clinical Applications Specialists in clinical or surgical settings.
Expert-level knowledge of refractive procedures including SMILE, flap creation, intracorneal ring segment (ICR) implantation, and keratoplasty using the VISUMAX platform.
Comprehensive understanding of MEL excimer laser ablation procedures, including treatment planning and execution.
Maintain current certifications and training in femtosecond and excimer laser procedures.
Strong foundational knowledge of general ophthalmology, including common clinical concerns and surgical workflows.
Excellent communication and instructional skills to guide, educate, and support customers in high-pressure surgical environments.
Advanced understanding of diagnostic and surgical tools: visual fields, lensometry, refractometry, IOL calculations, and retinal imaging technologies.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Outstanding interpersonal skills and clear verbal and written communication across professional levels.
Proven ability to manage challenging situations while fostering effective relationships with internal teams and external clients.
