About the role
- Support restaurant teams to improve unit level sales and margins and act as a steward of the brand
- Conduct and provide insightful analysis of the store level financial performance on period results versus forecast & year-over-year variances, including recommended actions
- Develop strategies to transform the operating model to leverage Yum’s scale, including systems, tracking processes
- Communicate with senior business partners regularly and report on financial results, identify outliers and trends and provide insight into potential causes
- Provide coaching, build financial knowledge, and drive accountability for above store leaders in operational region of responsibility
- Develop P&L line-item expertise, evaluate financial results, identify opportunities and help FP&A to develop periodic forecasts
- Translate the annual strategic plan and operating plan into a unit level plan for each restaurant
- Identify strategic opportunities to improve financial performance and lead cross functional teams to pursue opportunities
- Own labor transformation initiatives and provide financial leadership on cross-functional teams, ensuring projects deliver returns and that costs and savings are evaluated and presented to senior management
- Develop reporting and analysis tools; work with large amounts of data; make appropriate, realistic and timely decisions and recommendations to senior leadership
- Utilize financial modeling to evaluate project proposals, perform return analysis, and develop planning methodology
- Evaluate franchisee financials and payback periods
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA a plus
- 5-7 years relevant work experience (e.g., Financial Reporting & Analysis, Business Operations, Corporate Finance, Consulting)
- Multi-unit restaurant experience a plus
- Strong internal motivation, intellectual curiosity, logical thinking and ability to identify and leverage best practices
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication/presentation skills, with ability to partner well with other team members and interface effectively with all levels of management
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with ability to succinctly interpret data for executives and frame business issues in a straightforward manner
- Effective in managing large amounts of data and using financial and data base analytical tools (i.e. Excel, Access, Hyperion)
