Supervise others: monitor daily work activities, approve timesheets and time off, monitor performance, document performance concerns, manage promotions/transitions/separations in HRIS
Lead Refugee & Immigrant Youth Services (RIYS) department in Durham; implement School Impact Program and Youth Mentorship Program funded by NC State Refugee Office and other programs
Serve as liaison with RIYS community partners (Durham Public Schools, grant funders, churches, mosques, mental health partners, recreational organizations)
Work closely with the Executive Director and RIYS staff to develop research-driven services and gap-filling programs
Supervise and provide technical support to full-time staff, Youth Fellows, and interns across multiple grant-based programs
Coordinate DPS district and school-level staff, students, and parents to identify needs and challenges for English learners
Cooperate with DPS to ensure academic support aligns with classroom lessons and improves educational outcomes each semester
Create programming to support integration of youth and families, including multi-generational wraparound Youth Services
Collaborate with DPS to develop and deliver cultural sensitivity and other trainings
Develop partnerships with youth-serving agencies to ensure access to vital services
Provide budgeting and financial oversight for multiple grant programs; report expenses to State Refugee Office and other funders
Work with Church and Community Engagement team to prepare volunteers (tutors, mentors) in ESL, child safeguarding, and cultural responsiveness
Collaborate with Development Specialist and Executive Director on fundraising: research funding, support grant writers, provide data and reporting, steward funder relationships
Oversee administrative functions for RIYS: hiring, training & onboarding, time management & hour tracking
Communicate WR and local office policies to RIYS team; respond to staff needs and manage change
Meet routinely with Executive Director; participate in Strategy Team meetings
Utilize and develop Microsoft Dynamics, state Refugee Information System, and World Relief case management databases; case note as needed

Leadership, management or supervisory experience
Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, international studies, or applicable field; or 4 years’ equivalent work experience
Refugee and immigrant applicants strongly encouraged to apply
Entrepreneurial skills; self-starter; strong initiative and development skills
Fluent in Microsoft software including Excel, Word, and Outlook; highly skilled in Google Suite products; Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred
3+ years’ experience in educational leadership, ESL/ESOL/TESOL, volunteer coordination, youth services, or applicable field with supervisor experience (preferred)
Strong change management, conflict resolution, and team management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and organize in a fast paced and fluid environment
Demonstrated ability to cross cultures respectfully and responsively; experience working with families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
