About the role

  • Participate in agency senior leadership team to provide strategic direction by area of expertise and as agency leader.
  • Coach and advise managers and leaders on complex employee matters including sensitive employee relations issues and conduct investigations, as needed.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention through engagement strategies and initiatives.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance and partner with legal as needed.
  • Manage the Employee Engagement position and assist with initiatives as needed.
  • Manage the benefits administration process, review and determine compensation structure, strategies, and market analysis as needed.
  • Manage the Human Resources Generalist position and provide guidance as needed.
  • Educate and support hiring managers on overall hiring process, reviews and assists with job descriptions, sources and screens candidates, and advertises for position openings.
  • Manage leave-of-absence process, coordinate pay with payroll, and manage the ADA process as needed with employees.
  • Manage modules within the ADP Workforce Now platform and serve as backup for payroll.
  • Create and maintain policies and procedures within the agency.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, organizational development, or related field required.
  • 7+ years of overall work experience in progressively responsible professional HR roles.
  • Commitment for all employees to work toward including trauma informed care practices in their daily work.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion.
  • Wonderland employees are mandated reporters of any suspected abuse or neglect of a child to DCYF (CPS) and/or law enforcement.
  • Experience being a direct manager of one or more employees (preferred).
  • Supervisory responsibilities: interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, monitoring performance, rewarding/disciplining, addressing complaints.
  • Experience managing benefits administration, compensation structure, market analysis.
  • Experience managing leave-of-absence processes, ADA accommodation processes, and coordinating with payroll.
  • Ability to manage modules within the ADP Workforce Now platform.
  • Ability to be backup for payroll.
  • Ability to lift boxes or items up to 30 pounds; sit and use a screen for up to 8 hours a day.
