About the role
- Maintain strong relationships and deliver superior customer service to assigned national customers
- Develop and expand existing or target customers and support designated NAM in sales efforts
- Contribute to strategic business plans for assigned customers and assist in implementing strategic and tactical initiatives
- Report to Software Solutions, Engineering Director and collaborate with Platform Business leaders
- Plan and develop order and quotation volumes, profit margin goals, and operating expense budgets for assigned markets
- Plan, organize, manage and direct all sales activities to achieve or exceed planned goals for volume and margins
- Evaluate results and initiate organizational changes or corrective actions to improve sales effort
- Establish and maintain a national sales effort for coverage, market penetration, volume and margin goals
- Develop new markets through traditional sales or alternative distribution channels
- Serve as liaison between customer, prospects, national sales organization, and company to assure communications and information flow
- Attend trade fairs and shows to demonstrate systems/equipment, build goodwill, and report competitive developments
- Manage financial and sales targets per business plan and develop effective annual business plans with milestones
- Promote a customer-centered culture and ensure go-to-market plans for new products are implemented
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of a successful track record in retail sales, marketing, trade marketing and/or customer marketing
- Must be enthusiastic with an entrepreneurial spirit and sense of urgency; decisive leader capable of thriving in a dynamic, action-oriented environment
- Strategic mindset, business acumen with well-developed negotiation skills
- Strong financial capabilities needed to manage risk, understanding both cost and revenue implications; experience in setting and managing the annual budget throughout year
- Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient with computer and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong customer service orientation
- Cross functional leader translating the strategic vision of the company to all customers internally and externally
- Exceptional negotiating, planning and organizational skills and a high commitment to timely follow up and issue resolution
- Must be a self-starter and be able to work with minimal oversight
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to remain seated/standing at a desk or workstation for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks like typing on a keyboard or using a mouse for extended periods
- Ability to read documents and communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, and copiers
- Ability to physically move around the office and occasionally lift and carry light objects, such as office supplies, documents, or small equipment
