About the role
- Support Acceligen’s research and developmental programs using technical life-science skills
- Perform molecular biology and protein analytical techniques to generate experimental data
- Conduct in vitro laboratory work (molecular biology, cell culture, assays)
- Perform in vivo work at large animal facilities when needed (tissue harvesting, animal-related procedures)
- Prepare solutions and perform sample isolation and quantification workflows
- Run DNA sequencing and related analyses
- Perform immunohistochemistry and cell sorting as part of experimental workflows
- Maintain accurate electronic lab notebooks and documentation
- Follow established procedures, protocols, and safety practices
- Participate in rotating weekend lab responsibility schedule as required
Requirements
- BS/BA in a life science-related field plus one year of related laboratory experience
- A combination of education and work experience to equal 4+ years is acceptable
- Practical experience in a molecular biology/ cell culture laboratory is highly preferred
- Molecular biology techniques including PCR and cloning
- DNA/RNA/protein isolation and quantification
- DNA sequencing
- Mammalian cell culture
- Tissue harvesting
- Immunohistochemistry
- Cell sorting
- Solution making
- Exceptional documentation skills (electronic notebook)
- Attention to detail, well-organized and detail-oriented
- Solid time management skills, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to take direction
- Ability to work a standard Monday-Friday work week with additional rotating weekend lab responsibility schedule
- Ability to follow established procedures and protocols
- Willingness to perform in vitro laboratory work and in vivo work at large animal facilities if needed
- Physical requirements: prolonged standing, lifting up to 40 pounds, repetitive hand/wrist activities, and use of a personal computer
