Perform electrical system design and performance analyses for facility and infrastructure projects across the Center
Provide Low-Voltage and Medium-Voltage (e.g., 480V to 15 kV) design capability, including specifications and designs using MicroStation® or AutoCAD®
Support designs for new installations or modification of industrial power systems distribution
Support power substation and switchgear design and testing; work with power systems relays for protection, control, monitoring, and automation
Perform Arc Flash studies for facility and infrastructure projects
Provide Low-Voltage and Medium-Voltage power system short circuit, Arc Flash, and load flow studies using government-provided software (ETAP® Power Tools)
Maintain proficiency and certified training levels to utilize power system analytical tools (ETAP® Power Tools)
Provide oversight of the design and construction of electrical power distribution systems at Medium-Voltage and Low-Voltage levels, lightning protection systems, and other electrical systems
Verify compliance with applicable NFPA codes (including NFPA 70 and NFPA 780) and NASA/KSC electrical standards
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
12 years' experience in electrical engineering
Professional Engineering license preferred
Low-Voltage and Medium-Voltage (480V to 15 kV) design capability
Experience with MicroStation® or AutoCAD®
Experience with industrial power systems distribution installations or modifications
Experience with power substation and switchgear design and testing
Familiarity with power systems relays for protection, control, monitoring, and automation
Experience performing Arc Flash studies
Experience with short circuit and load flow studies using ETAP® Power Tools
Maintain proficiency and certified training in ETAP® Power Tools
Knowledge of NFPA codes including NFPA 70 and NFPA 780
Familiarity with NASA and KSC electrical standards preferred
