Perform electrical system design and performance analyses for facility and infrastructure projects across the Center
Provide Low-Voltage and Medium-Voltage (480V to 15 kV) design capability, including specifications and designs using MicroStation or AutoCAD
Support designs associated with new installations or modification of industrial power systems distribution
Support power substation and switchgear design and testing; verify protection, control, monitoring, and automation functionality
Perform Arc Flash studies and provide short-circuit and load flow studies using ETAP Power Tools
Maintain proficiency and certified training levels for power system analytical tools (ETAP)
Perform oversight of design and construction of electrical power distribution systems at Medium-Voltage and Low-Voltage levels and lightning protection systems
Verify compliance with NFPA codes (NFPA 70, NFPA 780), NASA, and KSC electrical standards
Maintain proficiency with all applicable NFPA codes
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
4 years' experience in electrical engineering
Professional Engineering license preferred
Low-Voltage and Medium-Voltage (480V to 15 kV) design capability
Experience with MicroStation or AutoCAD
Experience supporting industrial power systems distribution
Experience with power substation and switchgear design and testing
Familiarity with power systems relays for protection, control, monitoring, and automation preferred
Ability to perform Arc Flash studies
Proficiency with ETAP Power Tools for short circuit, Arc Flash, and load flow studies
Maintain proficiency and certified training to utilize ETAP Power Tools and certifications
Knowledge of NFPA codes including NFPA 70 and NFPA 780
Familiarity with NASA and KSC electrical standards preferred
Ability to oversee design and construction of electrical power distribution and lightning protection systems
