About the role

  • Provide ORM oversight and challenge over the U.S. Wealth and Asset Management Businesses
  • Actively involved in Change Management, including execution of Change Risk Assessments for projects/initiatives and integration activities
  • Provide oversight and challenge the Business in execution of ORM Programs: End-to-End RCSA's, QC Control testing, Scenario Analysis, Product Review Program, Key Indicators, Self-I.D issues and Change Management
  • Assist the SRL with execution of ERM programs such as Risk Catalog Identification, Concentration Risk, Risk Appetite and Risk Acceptance
  • Primary lead on certain business projects and represent ORM in Business Committees when SRL unavailable
  • Interact with business partners, control partners and 2nd line risk partners in both the U.S. and Canada
  • Partner with other ORM Senior Group Risk Specialists, SRL's and 2nd Line Program Leads
  • Lead development/implementation of standards, policies and processes to identify, report on and mitigate operational risk exposures
  • Analyze potential risks and escalate key risks to appropriate areas and executive review with business executive findings and action plans
  • Establish and provide ongoing analysis and reporting on operational risk and review findings and action plans with business leaders
  • Coordinate and guide activities relating to core operational risk disciplines/programs including RCSA, Business Continuity Management, Outsourcing & Vendor Management, Regulatory Compliance
  • Support enterprise-wide operational risk escalation, review and approval processes, data management, policies and risk assessment processes
  • Direct development and monitoring of Key Risk Indicators and facilitate communication and resolution of risk issues
  • Lead, motivate and develop relationships with internal and external business partners/stakeholders to ensure alignment with enterprise and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate and/or 10+ years relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge of risk management governance, programs, policies, practices, operating frameworks & reporting
  • Knowledge of risk management environment, standards, regulations and mitigation
  • Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends
  • Skill in mentoring and coaching
  • Skill in using advanced analytical software tools, data analysis methods and specialized reporting techniques
  • Advanced ability to lead, plan, implement, and evaluate program/project activities
  • Ability to make an impact, influence, and achieve results with effective negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Skill in using computer applications including MS Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams and functions
  • Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Preferred: Wealth and/or asset management experience with a Financial Institution or Public Accounting/Consulting Firm
  • Preferred: Expert in risk and control assessments in a 1st line business control, operational risk or audit role
  • Preferred: Knowledge in ORM programs; RCSA, QC Testing, Key Indicators, Issues Management, Scenario Analysis, Change Governance, New Business Product Approvals and Product Governance
  • Ability to interact with associates and Senior Vice Presidents and risk/control partners
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables
