About the role
- Execute on the Operational Risk Management (ORM) Framework for US Technology and provide risk-based oversight and challenge of control design and operating effectiveness
- Initially focus on the Eagle initiative and support remediation efforts for regulatory concerns
- Engage in challenge and oversight of high-focus remediation efforts for Regulatory concerns and report status
- Work closely with Enterprise/TDBG ORM counterparts and partner with US Enterprise Protect Business Information Security Officer team as primary risk and control partner
- Compile reports on overall US Technology trends, risks, and issues and recommend management actions to minimize risk exposures
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of Company and US Technology and strategic project goals to deliver effective solutions aligned with TD Bank's Operational Risk appetite
- Provide advisory services to executives and business segment leaders and govern requirements for own work
- Lead development/implementation of standards, policies and processes to identify, report on and mitigate operational risks
- Analyze potential risks, escalate key risks to appropriate areas and executive review, and review findings/action plans with business leaders
- Coordinate core operational risk programs including Risk & Control Self-Assessment, Business Continuity Management, Outsourcing & Vendor Management, and Regulatory Compliance (e.g., CDIC, AML, Privacy, IDA, CBA, SOX, Basel)
- Support enterprise-wide operational risk escalation, review and approval processes, data management, policies and risk assessment processes
- Develop and monitor Key Risk Indicators and facilitate communication and resolution of risk issues across business segments
- Lead/facilitate and/or implement actions/remediation plans to address performance/risk/governance issues and conduct meaningful analysis to draw conclusions and make recommendations
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree or technical certificate and/or 10+ years relevant experience
- Advanced knowledge of risk management governance, programs, policies, practices, operating frameworks & reporting
- Knowledge of risk management environment, standards, regulations and mitigation
- Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends
- Skill in mentoring and coaching
- Skill in using advanced analytical software tools, data analysis methods and specialized reporting techniques
- Advanced ability to lead, plan, implement, and evaluate program/project activities
- Effective negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams and functions
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
