Data Analyst

• Design, develop, test, and execute SAS code to query, compile, and manipulate data required for Educator Savings Accounts and other identified projects from the Authorizing department.
• Perform complex analysis on the relationships between data, build data visualizations, interpret findings, identify data patterns and communicate results and key insights to respond to identified client unit.
• Support the creation of all necessary state, federal, and internal reporting, including Public Information Requests.
• Design, develop, test, and implement data collection tools including surveys and forms using software such as Qualtrics and Smartsheets.
• Review and manipulate collected data to identify trends, generate insights, and present key findings to identified client units.
• Serve as an essential partner to identified client units, guide decision-making and align EDRS collaborations with clients' needs and goals.
• Conduct quality review of data sets and other analytical products created or received by the EDRS - Authorizing unit, acting on feedback from other team members to systematically improve data and visualization products.
• Develop, implement, test, and document technical work related to the EDRS – Authorizing unit and other internal projects within TEA. Maintain data governance standards, management tools, usage guidelines, and any storage procedures.

Data Analyst, Educator Savings Accounts, Virtual Schools – Data Analyst IV

• Performs routine data analysis and data research work in support of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV), Data Management Office.
• Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
• Identifies and interprets data patterns and trends and assess data quality.
• Prepares concise, comprehensive technical reports to present and interpret data, identify alternatives, and make and justify recommendations on data revisions.
• Compiles, queries, calculates and/or loads data using CSV files, SQL and other query languages from a variety of source formats.
• Develops standard reports and produces ad hoc reports when needed.

Software Engineer

• Performs complex (journey-level) computer programming analytical work in support of the Texas DMV Information Technology Services Division.
• Analyzes and evaluates internal IT processes, system specifications, software, and operations to identify opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency.
• Develops recommendations for optimizing workflows and enhancing service delivery.
• Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
• Develops new code or modifies existing application program code.
• Maintains, supports, and monitors program code ensuring ongoing operations and execution of the software.
• Provides support for application software programs, including problem resolution from software failures or other problems during standard working hours.
• Supports timely communication between App Dev, project teams, and business stakeholders.

Financial Planning and Analysis

• Performs advanced professional assistance for the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Finance and Operations (FAO) Division
• Provides support for the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Internal Audit Division Director, and secondary support to the department's executive office
• Coordinating high-level administrative operations of the division, including administrative procedures, scheduling meetings, and composing and tracking correspondence
• Prepares and monitors FAO purchase requisitions to ensure items are acquired timely in accordance with State guidelines
• Assists TxDMV staff across the department by troubleshooting requisition errors or making corrections
• Coordinates confidential and time-sensitive correspondence, emails and phone communications
• Makes travel arrangements, develops travel itineraries, and processes travel reimbursement requests for FAO staff
• Provides administrative oversight of division contracts, including property leases, copy machines, contractors, publications, lock boxes and professional certifications
• Answers phones, provides assistance to customers and routes calls to appropriate agency staff; provides assistance to the public and greets external visitors
• Assists with processing mail, evaluates content and routes to appropriate staff
• Schedules, coordinates and monitors daily operations and executive activities; may compose and respond to correspondence; proof and edit for grammar, punctuation, sentence structure and clarity
• Orders office supplies, books and publications, completes purchase requests, coordinates purchases, and processes payments for the FAO Division; maintains asset inventory for FAO division equipment
• May schedule and coordinate meetings and division training, notify attendees, develop agenda, prepare meeting information, secure meeting space, draft meeting minutes, document decisions and action items
• Manages special projects as assigned, develops timelines, reports status, identifies risks and issues, and escalates issues as needed
• May serve as division representative for department special purpose committees and schedules interviews for hiring managers
• May prepare new hire packets for division personnel
• May travel up to 5% of the time; may require working extended hours and some evenings and weekends
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
