Financial Planning and Analysis

• Performs entry-level financial examination work, specifically: routine compliance examinations of residential mortgage loan companies, mortgage bankers, wrap lenders, and residential mortgage loan originators with the assistance of others.
• Conducts examinations of mortgage originator operations to evaluate and assess compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
• Works remotely under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment for Financial Examiner I.
• Performs routine (journey-level) financial examination work, specifically: compliance examinations of residential mortgage loan companies, mortgage bankers, wrap lenders, and residential mortgage loan originators for Financial Examiner II.
• Works remotely under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent thinking.

Financial Examiner I/II – Mortgage

Data Engineer

• Determines database requirements by analyzing business operations, applications, and programming; reviewing business objectives; and evaluating current systems.
• Obtains data model requirements, develops and implements data models for new projects, and maintains existing data models and data architectures.
• Develops physical databases meeting performance requirements.
• Develops strategies for database implementation.
• Develops data structures for data warehouses and data mart projects and initiatives; and supports data analytics and business intelligence systems.
• Implements corresponding database changes to support new and modified applications, and ensures new designs conform to data standards and guidelines; are consistent, normalized, and perform as required; and are secure from unauthorized access or update.
• Defines and implements processes for extracting and loading data; identifies appropriate data sourcing and extraction processes, and in identifying and nominating sources as systems of record for data usage in various applications.
• Provides guidelines on creating data models and various standards relating to governed data.
• Reviews changes to technical and business metadata, realizing their impacts on enterprise applications, and ensures the impacts are communicated to appropriate parties.
• Configures and establishes data catalog to inventory, classify, and map data throughout the enterprise.
• Establishes measures to chart progress related to the completeness and quality of metadata for enterprise information; to support reduction of data redundancy and fragmentation and elimination of unnecessary movement of data; and to improve data quality.
• Assists in selecting data management tools and developing the standards, usage guidelines, and procedures for using those tools.
• Assists in performing root cause analyses related to information issues and non-conformance to published data standards based on review of technical metadata of various source systems.
• May supervise the work of others.
• May travel up to 5% of the time. Involves overnight travel. Travels by plane and/or car. May require working extended hours and some evenings and weekends, as needed.

Data Architect

System Administrator

• Implements, manages, and monitors storage, compute, and virtual instances in Azure, AWS, and other cloud platforms.
• Provisions, sizes, monitors, and adjusts resources as needed in cloud environments such as Azure and AWS.
• Creates, updates, and runs scripts to automate processes across both cloud and on-premises systems.
• Administers users, groups, and services within cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and Microsoft M365.
• Provides Windows and/or Linux system administration and support for users, systems, and services.
• Delivers customer service and responds to user inquiries regarding software, hardware, systems, and applications; may assist in the design, development, and maintenance of systems and software.
• Prepares reports, briefings, and evaluations on system efficiency and utilization; develops and enforces security controls; creates procedures, documentation, and training materials; conducts presentations.
• Monitors and manages daily server and application operations, ensuring SLA compliance and supporting policy and procedure development, scheduled tasks, and special projects.
• Administers user accounts, access controls, and file sharing on cloud resources and servers; provides hardware and software support.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams on system implementations, upgrades, and migrations.
• Participates in testing and validation of the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) and Business Continuity Plan (BCP); provides input and feedback on DRP/BCP activities.
• Assists in developing and maintaining technical documentation, procedures, and processes.
• Reviews and makes recommendations related to IT equipment procurement.

Systems Administrator – Azure

Software Engineer

• Spearhead new development initiatives for TxDMV applications using Java (Spring Boot), or Angular.
• Design, code, test, and deploy application features across multiple technology stacks.
• Develop and maintain batch jobs and automated processes.
• Create custom reports to address stakeholder requirements.
• Integrate TxDMV applications with third-party systems (e.g., payment systems, external web services).
• Modernize existing applications, including updates to templating solutions and front-end components.
• Monitor application performance and address potential system issues proactively.

Programmer

• Performs advanced (senior-level) programming work in support of the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV), Information Technology Services Division.
• Work involves designing, developing, and maintaining software applications, ensuring system security, optimizing software for efficiency and accessibility, and integrating modern and AI-driven technologies.
• Programmer IV will manage both legacy and modern technologies, ensuring compatibility and security while transitioning to more advanced solutions where applicable.
• Designs, develops, and maintains complex web-based and enterprise applications using Java/J2EE, Spring Ecosystem, and RESTful web services.
• Designs and develops user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Vaadin, React, Angular) to ensure responsive and accessible applications.
• Writes, optimizes, and troubleshoots complex SQL queries and database scripts.
• Designs and integrates cloud-based solutions using platforms like Azure.
• Ensures system reliability through performance tuning, monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and failover implementation.
• Leads modernization efforts by collaborating with stakeholders to define requirements and oversee system upgrades, migrations, and application refactoring.
• Implements DevOps best practices, including CI/CD automation with Jenkins, OpCon, and version control systems (SVN, Git).
• Develops and maintains automated test suites to ensure code quality and system reliability.
