About the role
- Performs advanced managerial (senior level) tax auditing work.
- Work involves providing direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning.
- Observing office and audit program administrative activities to ensure compliance with state tax laws, administrative rules, and regulations.
- Establishing office and program goals and objectives.
- Manages and approves payment processing, auditing, coordination, and administration work of compliance unit staff for the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority (MVCPA).
- Examines, investigates, and reviews records, reports, financial statements, and management practices to ensure legal compliance with state statutes and internal regulations.
- Conducts and leads team members in on-site and desk monitoring and audits for program economy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or the U.S. equivalency thereof in accounting or a related field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, auditing, grant management, grant monitoring, tax preparation, tax planning, or loan processing and four (4) years of management experience.
- Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
- Master level degree preferred.
- May require certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP).
