About the role
- Performs entry-level financial examination work, specifically: routine compliance examinations of residential mortgage loan companies, mortgage bankers, wrap lenders, and residential mortgage loan originators with the assistance of others.
- Conducts examinations of mortgage originator operations to evaluate and assess compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
- Works remotely under close supervision, with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment for Financial Examiner I.
- Performs routine (journey-level) financial examination work, specifically: compliance examinations of residential mortgage loan companies, mortgage bankers, wrap lenders, and residential mortgage loan originators for Financial Examiner II.
- Works remotely under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent thinking.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is generally preferred.
- One year of experience in compliance, regulation, legal, audit, or financial analysis is preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience in compliance, regulation, legal, audit, or financial analysis is required for Financial Examiner II.
- Completion of a minimum of one-year on-the-job service and training relating to financial institution audit or examinations.
- Position may require at least 10% overnight travel.
- Must possess or obtain within six months a valid Texas Driver License.
- Satisfactory driving record, credit and criminal background check.
