About the role
- Build new relationships to expand outreach and connect groups to shared interests and goals
- Develop events and engage activists across the state to advance state and federal public policy initiatives
- Work alongside state leadership to cultivate and foster relationships with elected officials at the local and state level
- Speak to groups of all sizes to motivate and inspire informed and engaged civic participation and advocacy for public policy reform
- Collaborate with the State Operations & States team to execute coalition and outreach strategies
Requirements
- A deep belief in people-empowering, bottom-up, public policy solutions
- Experience building diverse coalitions around a shared vision, developing strategy, and executing plans
- Leadership skills, strong people skills, and humility
- Ability to find common ground with a wide range of stakeholders
- Comfort and confidence working independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel at least 30% of the time
- Valid driver’s license
- Standout: 2+ years of experience in grassroots organizing, media or communications, or legislative work
