About the role
- Build and own the entire product marketing function for illumend as the sole Product Marketer
- Lead go-to-market strategy, product launches, and ongoing product messaging
- Craft compelling product positioning, messaging, and consistent brand voice across all channels
- Own the full customer journey for both sales-led and product-led growth: acquisition, onboarding, feature adoption, conversion, and retention
- Actively engage with customers to understand needs, challenges, and motivations; inform strategy and product development
- Develop and execute content strategy for website and channels; write impactful copy to drive engagement and conversion
- Design, run, and analyze experiments to test messaging, pricing, and packaging; iterate based on results
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and Engineering; manage competing priorities and influence strategic decisions
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in business to business product marketing, with a proven track record of owning and scaling a product marketing function, preferably at an early-stage or growth-stage company
- Direct, hands-on experience in a PLG model; understanding entire customer journey from free trial to conversion and leveraging product usage data to drive growth
- Demonstrated "builder" mindset: create, implement, and optimize strategies and processes from scratch in a fast-paced, startup environment
- History of conducting customer interviews and gathering qualitative feedback to inform positioning, messaging, and product strategy
- Strong analytical mindset and proficiency in using data to test hypotheses, analyze results, and iterate quickly
- Experience with A/B testing, marketing analytics, and interpreting product usage data
- Ability to blend strategic foresight and creative execution for new-industry product positioning and messaging
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across Product, Sales, and Engineering; manage competing priorities and influence without authority
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience developing and executing go-to-market (GTM) strategies for new products and features, including sales enablement materials
- Experience developing, testing, and iterating on pricing and packaging strategies
