About the role
- Help patients check into the hospital and answer questions during registration
- Collect information accurately and quickly across multiple screens and systems
- Listen with compassion, ask follow-up questions, and build rapport with patients
- Work on computers and answer phones to intake patient and insurance information
- Input details between physician and nurse check-ins and work around clinicians interrupting for emergent care
- Fast-paced, often on your feet assisting patients complete their registration
- Learn variations in health plans and coverage through training to collect insurance information correctly
- Support a team-oriented environment and progress toward healthcare career goals
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent customer service experience
- Must be up to date on all vaccinations
- Must pass a drug test prior to hire
- Must pass a background check prior to hire
- Comfortable seeing illness and injuries in a hospital/lab environment
- Ability to type quickly and answer phones; confident multi-tasker and quick study with technology
