About the role
- Help patients check into the hospital and answer questions during registration
- Collect information accurately and quickly and listen with compassion to address fears, concerns, and questions
- Work on computers and answer phones to intake information in a busy environment
- Work across multiple screens and programs, inputting details between physician and nurse check-ins
- Work around clinicians interrupting the registration process for emergent clinical care
- Ask follow-up questions and build rapport in real time
- Assist patients completing registration, often on your feet in a fast-paced environment
- Collect patient and insurance information and apply knowledge learned through training
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent customer service experience
- Preferred: 1 year medical environment experience
- Must be up to date on all vaccinations
- Must pass a drug test prior to hire
- Must pass a background check prior to hire
- Comfortable seeing illness and injuries
- Confident multi-tasker, quick study with technology, able to type and answer phones
