About the role
- Help patients check into the hospital and assist with patient registration
- Answer questions during registration and intake information via phone and computer
- Collect patient and insurance information accurately and quickly across multiple systems
- Work across multiple screens and input details between physician and nurse check-ins
- Work around clinicians interrupting the registration process for emergent clinical care
- Ask follow-up questions, build rapport, and ease patient anxiety
- Assist patients in a fast-paced environment, often on your feet
- Learn health plan and coverage variation through training
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent customer service experience
- Must be up to date on all vaccinations prior to hire
- Must pass a drug test prior to hire
- Must pass a background check prior to hire
- Confident multi-tasker
- Quick study with technology
- Ability to type and answer phones simultaneously
- Comfortable working across multiple programs and multiple screens
- Prepared to see illness and injuries in a hospital/lab environment
- Ability to listen with compassion and build rapport in real time
