About the role
- Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files
- Prepare account reconciliations for month end close
- Assist with month end close process including bank reconciliations
- Assist with annual audit and tax requests
- Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
- Analyze information and options by developing spreadsheet reports and verifying information
- Act as primary point of contact for regional operations as assigned, including the Regional Vice-President
- Assist Director of Accounting as needed
- Perform other analyses and duties as assigned
- Work autonomously, take ownership of tasks, and drive results
- Handle Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA policies and procedures
- Collaborate with operations leaders to communicate monthly financial results and address questions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 2+ years’ experience in accounting or related field
- Strict attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, start-up, results-oriented environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience communicating financial results to operations leaders and answering questions about monthly results
- Proficient Microsoft Office Suite products, specifically Excel and ability to analyze large data sets
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot tables, Index Match, VLOOKUP, and managing large data sets
- Proficiency in the operation of a computer keyboard and ability to work effectively with Microsoft Office Products
- Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment
- Multi-entity/location physician services experience
- Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures
- Skilled in identifying and resolving problems
- Ability to use good reasoning and judgment and react calmly in emergency situations
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, co-workers and the public
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
- Handling of Protected Health Information (PHI) and understanding of HIPAA security policies, procedures, expectations, and professional responsibilities
