Responsible for Level 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 commissioning of base building systems, security systems, life safety systems, Electrical, Mechanical, and EPMS/BMS systems of a Data Center environment
Oversee, document, and track various aspects of commissioning activities
Test and validate connectivity, network infrastructure, security, life safety, building subsystems and finishes, transformers, electrical switchgear, UPS, STS, PDU, electrical distribution equipment, chillers, water loops/components, cooling distribution equipment, Electrical Power Monitoring Systems, and Building Management and automation systems
Serve as a project manager and liaison to a third-party commissioning agent
Develop comprehensive commissioning plans for Level 1–5 systems, including connectivity, network infrastructure, security, life safety, other building subsystems and finishes, Electrical, Mechanical, and Building Automation components
Conduct commissioning activities ensuring systems are installed, tested, and validated according to industry standards and client specifications
Identify, track, and resolve issues during the commissioning process and provide feedback to program management for continuous improvement
Create and/or review detailed commissioning documentation, including test procedures, reports, and as-built documentation
Witness testing of all equipment during commissioning and validate sequence of operations and receipt of operational documentation
Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, contractors, commissioning agents, and facilities operations to ensure seamless integration of systems
Implement quality control measures and adhere to regulatory requirements and industry best practices
Develop and test site specific SOPs, MOPs, and emergency response procedures in coordination with facilities operations
Provide training to end-users and maintenance personnel on operation and maintenance of commissioned systems
Use Change Management Process to get approval for preventative and corrective maintenance and complete maintenance with required documentation using QTS process and software
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent professional experience
Five or more years of work experience in data center engineering, commissioning, project management, or equivalent
Background in areas of building maintenance, CCTV and Access control systems, network, telecommunications, and/or fire detection/suppression systems
Ability to travel to other Data Center locations as required (estimated 75% travel; travel 1–2 weeks at a time)
Proficiency with MS Office Suite
US Citizenship for this position is required by law due to federal customer contracts
Firm understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment, systems and design related to data centers (preferred)
Knowledge of electricity and medium to low voltage electrical distribution systems (preferred)
Experience with emergency backup systems (generators, UPS, battery backup) (preferred)
Experience with various mechanical cooling solutions (Chillers, CRAH, CRAC, Pumps, Heat Exchangers, etc.) (preferred)
Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance, single line drawings, critical scripted work, and sequence of operations (preferred)
Ability to analyze operations, determine causes of problems and take corrective action
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Ability to function in a team environment
Computer skills and familiarity with MS Office, Outlook, and web-based computer applications
Physical requirements: frequent typing, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and lifting; lifting up to 50 lbs regularly
