As climate change amplifies the intensity of wildfires—with longer fire seasons, dryer fuels, and faster winds—new ignitions spread faster and put more communities at risk. Today, most wildfires are detected by bystanders and reported via 911, meaning it can take hours to detect a fire, verify its exact location and size, and dispatch first responders. Fire authorities need a faster way to detect, confirm, and pinpoint fires so that they can quickly respond—preventing small flare-ups from becoming devastating infernos.

We are the leader in early wildfire detection and intelligence, helping fire professionals respond to fires faster and more safely—with the right equipment, timely information, and enhanced coordination—so that they can stop a new ignition before it grows. Pano AI combines advanced hardware, software, and artificial intelligence into an easy-to-use, web-based platform. Leveraging a network of ultra-high-definition, 360-degree cameras atop high vantage points, as well as satellite and other data feeds, Pano AI produces a real-time picture of threats in a geographic region and delivers immediate, actionable intelligence.
The Role: Pano AI is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director of Information Technology and Security to lead and scale our internal technology function. You’ll serve as the company’s senior-most technology and security leader, responsible for both core infrastructure and the protection of Pano AI’s information assets. You’ll lead IT operations and our Security & GRC teams to build and scale secure, compliant systems that enable our employees to do their best, most efficient work while maintaining a high level of security and trust that our utility and government customers expect.
This is a key leadership role that blends operational rigor with forward-thinking strategy. You’ll be responsible for building high-performance IT and IS teams, maturing our systems and tooling, and enabling scalable, secure growth as we continue to expand globally.

Director of Information Technology and Security

Full-stack Engineer

• Continually improve on the existing custom Linux OS that runs Pano’s edge computers
• Develop new features to enable faster and more accurate wildfire detections
• Participate and drive critical decisions on adopting new tools and patterns to improve uptime and reliability
• Ongoing debug and resolution of field issues
• 7+ years of software engineering experience plus a BS in Computer Science or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience programming in Python
• Proficient in scripting with Bash
• Experience with building, maintaining and deploying embedded Linux operating systems
• Strong Linux fundamentals
• Experience with an embedded system toolchain, like Yocto or Buildroot
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in complex systems
• Ability to communicate effectively within the team and across the organization while sharing insights and updates and collaborating to achieve project goals

Senior Software Engineer, Embedded Linux

• Build and manage a growing pipeline of state and local customers located in the Central and Eastern time zones.
• Lead sales strategy and execution for public sector accounts, including State Forestry departments, emergency management agencies, departments of natural resources, and public safety organizations
• Lead the full sales cycle: from outbound prospecting and multi-stakeholder engagement through contracting and onboarding
• Work closely with our internal Government Affairs team and state lobbyists to navigate legislative and procurement pathways that support broader adoption
• Negotiate pricing, operational, and legal terms as part of multifaceted sales processes
• Drive strategic expansions within key accounts and identify regional go-to-market opportunities
• Represent Pano at public sector events, including wildfire summits, emergency management conferences, and state or regional planning forums
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Success
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or technical graduate degree preferred
• 8+ years of full-cycle enterprise sales experience, ideally in SaaS, infrastructure, IoT, or managed services
• Experience selling to or partnering with Federal, State and Local government
• Proven success navigating highly regulated environments and long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
• Strategic thinking and strong executive presence; comfort presenting to VP, COO, and C-level decision-makers
• Ability to thrive in early-stage, fast-paced environments with evolving processes

Enterprise Account Executive - Public Sector

• The Director of Regulatory Affairs will lead Pano AI’s engagement with utility regulators, public utility commissions (PUCs), and other key regulatory and policy stakeholders at the state and federal levels.
• This role focuses on shaping a favorable regulatory environment for wildfire detection technology and accelerating market adoption through strategic regulatory advocacy and collaboration with Pano's utility sales team.
• Pano AI is the utility sector leader in rapid detection and situational awareness – this role is crucial to the company’s continued growth in the sector.
• This position is new and requires both strategic leadership and hands-on execution. Reporting to the VP for Global Government Affairs and working closely with the utility practice, it blends policy advocacy, regulatory strategy, stakeholder engagement, and business support, all aligned toward revenue growth and market transformation.
