Manage achievement of unit and revenue goals for assigned therapy products in an assigned district
Develop and implement strategies to achieve short and long-term business objectives
Utilize field visits and individual or group meetings and telephone contacts to train and develop employees in sales skills, product knowledge, teamwork, time and territory management, competitive knowledge, and career goals pursuits
Coordinate sales efforts and communicate corporate, divisional, regional and/or district mission, goals and activities
Direct and motivate personnel to achieve unit and revenue goals and provide ongoing feedback/coaching
Regularly schedule performance reviews and implement corrective actions when necessary
Assist employees with individual development plans (IDPs) and apply customer focused quality (CFQ) concepts
Provide overall management of district assets including developing and managing budgets and forecasts
Ensure efficient, effective use of inventory and expenses
Negotiate and resolve price and contract issues with reps, accounts, regional management and home office personnel
Coordinate efforts with sales reps and managers of other product lines to diversify and maximize Medtronic teamwork results
Develop ethical, long-term customer relationships and represent Medtronic management to customers
Recruit and interview candidates to maintain a strong personnel bench and meet workplace diversity goals
Provide feedback of marketing intelligence to sales and marketing management
Field-based responsibilities require residing in territory, driving to multiple accounts, and travel outside the territory
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 7 years of medical sales experience; or Advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of medical sales and leadership experience
Experience selling Capital Equipment (nice to have)
Experience with Robotics (nice to have)
Successful medical sales record, preferably with Neuroscience products (nice to have)
Experience with sales and personnel management functions (nice to have)
Knowledge of Neuroscience assigned product/therapy customer base (nice to have)
Additional experience in marketing, training, technical services or related areas (nice to have)
Must reside within the territory and drive to multiple accounts throughout the region
Valid driver's license
Field based role with travel outside the territory
Preference given to local qualified candidates and candidates with Medtronic experience
For sales reps and other patient facing field employees: comply with all credentialing requirements at the hospitals or clinics they support
