About the role
- Manage a Field Sales Team for Medtronic Acute Care and Monitoring (ACM)
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, and manage all sales and clinical representatives assigned to the region
- Actively coach direct reports to meet annual objectives through development of business skills and product knowledge
- Lead regional opportunity development and opportunity management strategies and activities
- Maintain sole ownership of providing an accurate forecast to the ACM VP, US Sales each reporting period
- Responsible for meeting forecasting, revenue, margin, and profitability objectives and balancing revenue generation and expense management
- Work collaboratively with aligned Clinical Director to develop clinical business strategy related to pre-sale and post-sale activities
- Develop and implement business plans that utilize local account team resources
- Collaborate across internal stakeholder groups (finance, sales operations, marketing, OEM, etc.) to support business goals and strategy
- Identify, qualify, prepare, and execute effective sales strategies to maintain base business and close growth opportunities
- Develop and implement talent development initiatives to optimize team productivity and bench development
- Provide product mix, marketing feedback, and ensure customer satisfaction relative to field sales activities
- Territory geography includes Northern California, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska; required to reside in territory and drive to accounts
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant sales experience OR advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant sales experience
- Master’s Degree (MBA, MA, MS) highly desirable
- Previous sales management experience strongly preferred
- 10+ years of overall work experience (preferred)
- Medical capital equipment and disposable products field experience
- Experience compiling contracts with supporting financial business case
- Recruiting and hiring experience
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Executive sales and negotiating skills
- Leadership and Mentoring Abilities, preferably in a complex business environment
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as purchase agreements, financial reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Experience writing reports, presentations, and business correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and stakeholders
- Knowledge and understanding of the hospital and health care environment
- Well-developed organizational and time management skills
- High computer proficiency required, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Valid driver’s license required
- Required to reside within the territory and drive to multiple accounts throughout the region
- Willingness/ability to travel ~75% including outside the territory
- Must comply with hospital credentialing requirements for patient-facing field employees
