About the role
- Sell Medtronic Surgical Technologies products to hospitals, physicians and approved customers within assigned territory to attain quotas and sales objectives
- Conduct face-to-face sales calls to demonstrate, in-service and sell capital and disposable products to physicians, nurses and other purchase influencers
- Execute Sales Action Plans and plan/strategize sales calls to hospital departments, outpatient surgery centers and doctors’ offices
- Use own vehicle and transport heavy inventory and demonstration equipment; maintain company-owned property and inventory
- Provide support and service to clinical personnel in surgical environments
- Report competitive activity to the Region Manager and maintain records/reports in a timely fashion
- Attend meetings and courses inside and outside the territory as required
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with the Medtronic Surgical Technologies Quality System
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of sales experience with 3 of those 5 years in medical sales
- OR Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years of Medtronic Neuroscience (Pain, Brain or Spine) Clinical Specialist experience or Sales Rep I experience along with 2 years of additional prior sales or clinical experience
- Excellent inter-personal and organizational skills (preferred)
- Must be independently mobile
- Required to interact with a computer for extended periods of time
- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms
- Regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus
- Position is based out of the Representative’s residence; must be able to carry products and transport demonstration equipment (≈30% handling)
- Approximately 50% overnight travel required (driving throughout territory; air travel when required)
- Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy; driving record will be reviewed
- Preference will be given to local qualified candidates and candidates with Medtronic experience
- For sales reps and other patient facing field employees, compliance with hospital credentialing requirements is expected
