Provide customer service by answering basic HR questions regarding policies, systems, and benefits
Manage new hire paperwork, electronic onboarding, and compliance documentation (I-9, E-Verify)
Assist with new hire orientation, prepare orientation materials, and distribute post-orientation surveys
Consult with hiring managers to coordinate onboarding for seasonal staff, including timekeeping system setup and support
Intake and appropriately escalate employee relations and discipline issues to the HR Generalist and Manager
Maintain a reputation as a neutral, approachable HR representative for employees and managers
Perform HRIS data entry for new hires, terminations, promotions, and other status changes
Maintain employee records and personnel files in compliance with regulatory standards
Prepare and submit employment verifications and unemployment insurance claims
Prepare correspondence, scan, file, and route HR documents
Process mail and faxes in a timely manner
Support HR projects, audits, and special assignments

Basic understanding of relevant software, tools, and systems used in the corporate environment. This includes a proficiency in standard software applications, including Windows and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Level 1 – HR Coordinator I (Entry-Level): Associate degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and administrative experience
At least 1 year of office administrative or customer service experience, preferably in HR
Level 2 – HR Coordinator II (Intermediate): Associate degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or related field or Bachelor’s degree preferred OR equivalent combination of education and administrative experience
At least 2–3 years of human resources experience, including onboarding, records management, and benefits support
Demonstrated knowledge of HR compliance requirements
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with limited supervision
Level 3 – HR Coordinator III (Advanced/Senior) Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and human resources experience
At least 4–5 years of progressive HR experience, with exposure to compliance reporting, employee relations support, and HR process improvement
Strong HRIS and reporting experience (ADP Workforce Now, Deltek, or equivalent)
Ability to successfully pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications: Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR)
Previous experience working with Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs)
