About the role

  • Sell all Medtronic Surgical Technologies products to hospitals, physicians and other approved customers within the geographical limits of territory to attain quotas and sales objectives.
  • Field based role; required to reside within the territory and drive to multiple accounts throughout the region.
  • Conduct face-to-face sales calls with physicians, nurses and other key purchase influencers to demonstrate, in-service and sell capital and disposable products.
  • Plan, strategize and successfully execute sales calls to hospital departments, outpatient surgery centers and doctors’ offices.
  • Provide support and service to clinical personnel as it relates to the Products in a surgical environment.
  • Maintain company owned property and inventory in good working condition; transport demonstration equipment to customers’ premises.
  • Report competitive activity within the territory to the Region Manager and maintain all records and reports as requested.
  • Execute Sales Action Plans and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with the Medtronic Surgical Technologies Quality System.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of sales experience with 3 of those 5 years in medical sales; or
  • Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years of Medtronic Neuroscience (Pain, Brain or Spine) Clinical Specialist experience or Sales Rep I experience along with 2 years of additional prior sales or clinical experience.
  • Excellent inter-personal and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy
  • Driving record will be reviewed and considered
  • Must be able to be independently mobile
  • Interact with a computer for extended periods
  • Regularly required to talk or hear
  • Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms
  • Regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to carry products; 30% physical handling of equipment
  • Approximately 50% overnight travel; air travel when required
  • Preference given to local qualified candidates and candidates with Medtronic experience
